    A Victim of It's Own Success 1

NHL 09 scored a hat trick with reviewers, shut out the competition, and other hockey-related pun with gamers with the huge addition of Be A Pro mode (BAP) and the EA Sports Hockey League (EASHL). So does NHL 10 match up to the leap between 08 and 09?  Be A Pro returns this year with the outstanding addition of the prospect game before the NHL Entry Draft. Last year, simulating being drafted meant closing your eyes while rapidly cycling through the team list and pressing A to get picked by a rand...

Strong, yet imperfect iteration of EA's annual NHL franchise. 2

NHL 10 is probably the best hockey game ever made.  However, I can't give it five stars. I've spent a lot of time with this game (I went to the midnight release of it and it has barely left my 360 since) and didn't want to write a review that was at all hasty and I think I'm familiar enough with it to say this: I love this game.  Ever since NHL 07, I've wondered how EA could top their current title with the next year's iteration and they somehow have always pleasantly surprised me with a quality...

    Hockey at its best! 0

Let's start by admitting the facts.  I'm a huge hockey fan.  I love hockey games.  I hate arcade style hockey games..Ok, I don't hate them, because the NHL 3 on 3 game was pretty sweet, but I don't really care for them in a $60 price point.  Moving on...   NHL 2010 has taken the bar set by NHL 2009 and raised it to new levels.  All the in-game stuff you've read about on the preview sites is there and it works great.  In game one of my season I got caught chasing Jamal Mayers down as he got i...

NHL 10 continues to develop with realism, but with no risks taken 0

+ Same great gameplay from 09 improved+ Season and Be A Pro modes improved+ Still the best sports game around- Improvements are very minor- Visuals are exactly the sameNHL 09 was the best sports game last year and NHL 10 looks to build on that enormous success. The series continues to progress but year after year the improvements are less and less visible. The biggest addon and the most promoted one is first person fighting. I don't like it. It's confusing, takes more time to learn and doesn't r...

    NHL 10 0

There is only 2 hockey games out for both systems and NHL 10 is the best one. I really have not played GM mode or Be A Pro mode.  But from what I here it is pretty good.  Minor flaws in GM mode with trades and stats.  My opinions are from online play. First off, the biggest complaint I have with this game is the AI.  The goalie's AI in paticular needs more work.  There are saves made where you will be amazed on how he made the save, but then there are many saves that the goalie misses because of...

    EA At It's Best 0

EA Sports really made hockey fans happy because the created NHL 10 the most realistic NHL game to date. Nhl 10 is both fun online, solo and in multiplayer.  This game is perfect for a party or even on a Sunday. If you love hockey then you will love NHL 10 because of it's sweet graphics. The topselling Hockey Franchise is still at the topbecause of a great masterpeice NHL 10. So if you like hockey, action, fun and online play but NHL 10. P.S Great Season Mode...

Best Hockey game ever? Close... 0

I was a huge fan of the EA NHL series for awhile, from 94 - 2004 i had played EA's hockey sim like a bad habit, in 2005 i picked up ESPN NHL2K5 for my PS2 since it was only 20$ and fell in love with the 2K series, which was a very short love.  fast forward to 2009 and NHL09 vs 2K9 (after reading, watching, and playing the demo's of each game, I realized that 2K was going in a direction I did not like, so i picked up NHL09 after a brief EA Sports hiatus, and I was not disappointed.   now with NHL...

    Something must change 0

Let's be quite frank here, this game is a great game. It's NHL 09 with a few improvements to make it better yes. I can break this game down into subsections if i want, but it would come to the same conclusion, if you like hockey, play this game. The sound, graphics, and gameplay are all on par with previous installments, with a few gameplay additions like boardplay or broken sticks. But to make an entire game out of a simple gameplay tweak...outrageous. My problem lies with the horrendous mon...
