    Something must change

Let's be quite frank here, this game is a great game. It's NHL 09 with a few improvements to make it better yes.

I can break this game down into subsections if i want, but it would come to the same conclusion, if you like hockey, play this game.

The sound, graphics, and gameplay are all on par with previous installments, with a few gameplay additions like boardplay or broken sticks. But to make an entire game out of a simple gameplay tweak...outrageous.

My problem lies with the horrendous money grabbing system games seem to be a part of nowadays.

They should simply do 1 of 2 things in this situation, because shelling out 70 dollars every year for 'slight improvements' isn't right.

    1. Release games bi-yearly, as rosters can and are updated automatically anyway, there should be no reason why a new NHL game MUST come out yearly. Just because a year passes does not mean you should release a new game, release them when the last one is NEED of a serious upgrade.

    2. Release yearly, but cut the price. There is no reason why this game would deserve a 70 dollar price. The core is NHL 09, thus the actual development cost could not have been that high, secondly, perhaps offer the game for download at a further cut price, even 5-10 dollars would be nice, as production is bypassed that way.

The point is, you have a great game, but you had a great game last year too. Stop screwing your consumers, stop ruining the video game industry, and stop financially raping fans of hockey, and your games.

NHL 09 scored a hat trick with reviewers, shut out the competition, and other hockey-related pun with gamers with the huge addition of Be A Pro mode (BAP) and the EA Sports Hockey League (EASHL). So does NHL 10 match up to the leap between 08 and 09?  Be A Pro returns this year with the outstanding addition of the prospect game before the NHL Entry Draft. Last year, simulating being drafted meant closing your eyes while rapidly cycling through the team list and pressing A to get picked by a rand...

Strong, yet imperfect iteration of EA's annual NHL franchise. 0

NHL 10 is probably the best hockey game ever made.  However, I can't give it five stars. I've spent a lot of time with this game (I went to the midnight release of it and it has barely left my 360 since) and didn't want to write a review that was at all hasty and I think I'm familiar enough with it to say this: I love this game.  Ever since NHL 07, I've wondered how EA could top their current title with the next year's iteration and they somehow have always pleasantly surprised me with a quality...
