Fantastic!
Ryu Hayabusa is epic! this is one super ninja hell bent on revenge against ninjas,fiends,demons and all creatures unimaginable. who you get to kill with some very punishing moves.
Gameplay:
This is what Ninja Gaiden does best. the game puts a super ninja against modern military armies, demons and of course other ninjas. so don't expect this to be easy. however don't be put off by the many warnings other reviewers may caution you about. This was my first ever action game and I really enjoyed it, even when it took nearly 20 tries to finish the 2nd boss. what is strange is that despite being very difficult, it doesn't frustrate you. because there's always something you could have done to improve your chances of winning. and it's this process of continually improving yourself that keeps you playing. defeating a boss you once thought was impossible is very satisfying. for that reason alone this game is worth purchasing.
Story:
Unfortunately the story is not so special. it's purpose seems to only keep the action flowing. blood has been shed in your clans' village, so it's your enemies' turn to face the blade. The story introduces many new aspects that are not well explained. I found myself some what confused about the world of Ninja Gaiden once I started facing the fiends. seemed some what of a random addition to a Ninja game. but luckily there are books and other texts, that you can read in-game to learn more about the world. however I think this could have been better presented. so in other words you shouldn't play this for the story.
Graphics:
Quite possibly the best graphics last generation. The fighting animation, the environments, cut scenes all these are done very well with nice attention to detail. however, some settings are bland such Tairon which is a dark town with just one npc. however that is not a big issue because you will spend most of the time slicing and dicing, which are just brilliant, while maintaining a solid 60fps. also in between missions you will be occasionally treated by very cool CG movies, which tend to be action packed.
Sound:
The voice acting felt somewhat cold however the sound effects in combat are perfect. so is the music, which perfectly sets the mood for each individual setting. you might even come to enjoy particular tracks. in which case you can access them in game options.
Final Thoughts:
The game was my first action game and is now one of my favorite games. so even though it's quite difficult I highly recommend it. If you are unsure about the game then you should at least rent it. This is a game that all xbox owner's should try at least once.
