Yes More Heroes
I remember a friend hype-ing this game when it was first out. Seemed like yet another generic anime fighter. Since that I've finished Killer 7. Which is another game from same guy Suda51 (guy behind No More Heroes). Which in fact was Suda51;s breakthrough game and that in many ways can be considered as is a spiritual successor to No More Heroes. Franchises popularity is shown with a sequel that came out less than 2 years later. As well as the PS3 port that is out in Japan only at the moment.
Travis Touchdown is a young assassin who has got into his head that he needs to be number one assassin after obtaining a beam sword. While doing that trying to get in the sack with the French maid hottie who is working for the Assassin Association organization. Story is written well with good deal of lunacy and nice twists. All of the characters are interesting in their own way.
Graphics are presented in stylish cel-shading look. This being tad more polished look from the PS2/GC times. This artistic look might not be for everyone, but suits the game's cool theme very well. Soundtrack follows the same top notch quality with a catchy Otaku tracks. Voice acting is decent. The stereotype accent are good enough, Except for Mr Touchdown's English voice actors performance. Making him sound too static at times.
No More Heroes has a very quirky humor. Lot's of similarities to the underrated gem Killer 7. The open world with it's more open (than Killer 7) game-play this is was a really enjoyable experience. Granted the mini-game working mechanism will feel like real chore and at times controls/camera feel bit awkward. Still, no doubt one of the best third-party Wii games.
