    Overview

The sequel to the original freeware indie-hit Octodad where the player takes control of an octopus who is posing as an average everyday husband, father, and all-around normal human guy that's a human and not an octopus.

The game was released for the Windows PC, Mac, and Linux on January 30th, 2014 and for the PS4 on April 22, 2014. A Wii U port, developed by Panic Button, was announced during GDC 2015. A Xbox One version is being developed in-house.

    Gameplay

Octodad is controlled by individually moving around his arms and legs (read: his tentacles). It's possible to grab and fling just about every object in the game. Almost all puzzles and tasks revolve solely around the mechanics of Octodad's movement.

While the player can cause all types of mayhem with Octodad's erratic movements and behavior, it's advised not to cause too much chaos when being watched by others as that will raise the Suspicion meter, leading to Octodad's true identity being discovered when full.

    Story

Up until now, Octodad and his loving wife and kids have been simply enjoying life from him doing chores around the house to playing with his son and daughter, all the while his family being blissfully unaware of Octodad's secret of actually being an octopus (as shown in the first Octodad game). However as of late, his wife has become suspicious of Octodad's dubious behavior. Couple that with him constantly dealing with the Chef, Octodad's arch-nemesis and the only individual who is fully aware of the fact that he's an octopus, and a fateful family outing to the aquarium and it's only the beginning of Octodad's problems in Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
