The Game That Combines Myth, Gaming.....And Horny Sidekicks.

I will not bore you the reader with facts about this game which have been repeated before me hundreds times ,if you do not know by now that the graphics are artistic ,and the voices are annoying then you haven't seen or read anything about Okami.

In wish case, I'm flattered that you came to me first.I would like to start by pronouncing the fact that this is the type of game which will stand the test of time. Even now for example ,in this "next-gen" day and age we are used to astounding graphics and voice overs ,if any other game would not have spoken dialog it would be utterly destroyed by the gaming-press for the lack of this feature ,it would be treated as a game behind on its time.

Yet Okami doesn't have this ,nor is it required by anyone. Its "missions" usually are pretty short yet there are many ,which creates a game both relaxing to play yet greatly addicting since you will always think to do "just 1 more" before going to bed ,untill suddenly you realise its 4 in the morning... .Okami is the complete package ,enjoyable combat ,heartwarming characters ,full in detail (If you give a headbutt to an NPC ,you actually see them fall over and reacting to you ,a thing I haven't seen in any other game of that generation) and a great story to rap it all together. One final suggestion ,do not be put off by the fact the story revolves around eastern Legends ,I personally don't know any and it has never happened that I'm in the dark about an element in the story through lack of knowledge ,though I do believe it might add another layer of enjoyment if you should know them.

The comparisons to The Legend Of Zelda tend to be made often. It is not unjustified, but there are quit a number of differences. Which make Okami my unbiased choice over The Legend of Zelda.: Twilight Princess. Fighting is completely Real Time, but once you encounter an enemy, barriers go up so your forced to beat herhim before being able to move on. Boss fights are varied and awe inspiring.

I will not spoil this Divine Story, but do note that after around 8 hours of play. It as heavily implied that it is Time for the Final Showdown. Should this be true, the game would still be highly recommendable, but thankfully, you learn that those sloppy 8 hours were just the tutorial....and now your 60-80 hour Journey Really Beginns.

Okami uses a Brush System, which means that you have to drw chapes to fight Demons and effect The World around you. This mechanism is used to slash, Magic up bombs, EtceTera,EtceTera. After playing buth The PS2 and Wii Versions, I must say the former is my favorite. The Wii controller oftern doesn't recognise certain drawing movements, which is crucial in a game like this. The Tale is not difficult, but dungeons need good controls if you Ever want to finish the compelling puzzles.

Anyway, Okami's developer, Clover Studios, closed down after finishing this game. So it's very sad that there will never be a True Sequel. On the other hand, the story finishes nicely, and thus, there is no real need to go back to it.

Does exploring a hand drawn Japanese world in the guise of a Wolf God sound exiting to you.

Then buy this game, Trust Me, you Will not Be dissapointed.

Okami: A Swan Song Most Worthy of Clover's Name 0

Created in a time when venerable developer Clover Studio was on its last legs, Okami is a game which naturally burdens itself with a number of expectations. Not only does it come after a line of well-loved Viewtiful Joe installments from the same developer, but an uncanny resemblance to other recent action-adventure games also raises the stakes for the quality which is to be expected from this game. Thankfully, though, Okami not only meets these standards, but often far exceeds them. The game ma...

Okami is an outstanding, beautiful game that rises to perfection 0

Throughout my life I've always thought achieving true perfection was impossible. As no matter how good something is, there's always some sort of flaw. And that flaw -- whether it be a big one or a small one -- keeps it from being perfect. This is especially true for videogames, as they possess a wide variety of possible problems, and at least one of 'em can be found in any game. Because of that, I had gotten used to the fact there would never be a perfect game. But in 2006, that changed. As tha...
