Overview
Penny Arcade Expo Australia is the first PAX to be held outside the United States of America. The Expo is located in Melbourne (the state capital of Victoria) for its launch year in 2013.
Ron Gilbert, the designer/programmer/producer of games such as Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, and The Cave, will be the guest speaker for PAX's traditional "Storytime" (keynote).
PAX Australia 2013 will be the first PAX show since Giant Bomb's founding where members of the Giant Bomb staff will not be present. As with previous PAX events, a Giant Bomb panel was scheduled, with planned attendance by Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis. All plans related to Giant Bomb's presence at the expo were cancelled following Davis's death on July 3, 2013.
