The PlayStation 3 (often abbreviated PS3) is the third home video game console created and released by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.

Looks as bad as all of Sonys console designs. All this picture does is make me think "Yah, that looks about right".

Why change it? Whats wrong with the current PS3 design?
Nothing... I love the slim design.
This one is suppose to be even smaller tho, correct? I agree it looks kinda ugly. Odd how they put the "PS3" so close to the edge. If I didn't have a slim already I might consider getting it if it is in fact smaller but I wonder how much smaller it is.
Wow, that is pretty ugly, but to be honest, Sony have always made ugly consoles (and their controller is horrible). Maybe not original Xbox ugly, but still ugly. The whole shape of it is unappealing. Lucky it makes up for it in being a quality machine.
What's wrong with pop-open disc trays? I had a disc stuck in my PS3 last year because the power went out for a couple days and I couldn't turn the thing on. Pop open trays are great!
It's like they're trying to get people to buy the old models off the shelves with this design. Also, it looks a bit like the PS2 slim from the side, with that horizontal striping.
Anyway, if it comes in pink or bright purple, I'm all over it. I like my consoles to look ridiculous.
I heard there was a new model number registered. Well, the beveled top might reduce the dust. My original PS3 fatty was a dust magnet and my current slim, while better than the former, still attracts quite a bit of free-flowing dust. But, as other have said, this one isn't a looker. I would have thought Sony might make the next model even smaller. That would have been cooler. Of course, these are rumors so until the official announcement comes, I can't take any of this too seriously.

What are you talking about...? The PS3 designs were nice and slick...
This sadly looks real, as if to maybe follow up with a die shrink. Please don't eat our handhelds, guys.
The design looks like something straight out of the Atari 2600 era. If you put some sweet ass faux wood paneling on there I'm all for it.
Edit: And as long as the PS logo can be spun around, it's still kosher in my book.
@SexyToad: @believer258: Original Gameboy or bust. Don't want none of that artificial flavoring in the Gameboy Advanced.
Meh, could be a prototype or something that we weren't supposed to see. Cool if they are releasing a new model but if they decide to bring back backwards compatibility I'll be kinda butthurt cause I bought a slim last month.
That looks a little too peculiar for it to be real, but if it is it doesn't look that bad. I always thought the Sony systems looked like pieces of hardware from the next millennium; especially the PS3.

I don't have my original Game Boy any longer. I have an Advance and a Color.

I'll one up you and eat my Game Boy Advance.
I'm holding you both to your word on this.
Cheaper to make 'pop and drop' disc tray - not to mention there will likely be a couple more features (maybe wifi and less usb ports?) omitted.
If real it's basically the ps3 equivalent of the stripped down psp that went on sale last year, ridiculous low price point with no trimmings (like the 360 arcade model i guess)
Like the thought of not perma losing discs though, that shit should be standard!
The ps2 didn't look too terribly bad. It made sense. Though seeing the ps1 for the first time, it looked awful. It grew on me.... But i still have my launch 20gig ps3, and i find it still pretty ugly. That gloss is nothing but a dirt attractor. If you don't have a fan at the top, why would you put a curvy design? You cant set say a controller or dvd comfortably on it. Which is why i would've thought the slim would look....normal. But nope.
So i would say this design could be pretty accurate. Only thing i see, is i doubt they'll be a 16gig version like the reports say. But a 160gig instead
It's clearly a callback to the PS2 design, which is awesome. I'm in favor. The edges of the plastic on the rear shot do look really janky, though.

Original Gameboy? if this turns out to be real which i have no idea about you will be eating that thing for the next few years

Whatever, it looks fine. People shit all over the first PS3 slim when pictures of that thing leaked too. Everyone will get used to it.
I still don't like my PS3 Slim. Half of it is all shiny and the rest is all crappy looking plastic.

That's actually the Game Boy I meant.
Don't squib - threaten to eat the original DS phat. Now that would be a feat of endurance!
people sayin PS3 slim looks ugly... what consoles look good to you?
I'd say PS3 slim is probably the prettiest console out there now. Simple, no extra ugly details, hidden vents, feels and looks solid while still being small and light. Beats the original PS3 design that was glossy.
Only negative for me is dust collects quite a bit in the disk insert lip part. If anything, the controller needs an overhaul to me. Feels too light and plasticy.
It still plays games fine, yea? then who cares? I havent liked any of the PS3s as far as design goes. They're awkward looking and dont go with anything in a normal person's home theater setup. So one bit of ugly is as good as another, but I'd love a nice, simple box that I could actually rest a game case or another console on if need be. If they want to encourage horizontal placement, as someone suggested, then make horizontal placement a feasible option.

But I only have one DS, and it's an old blue phat one!

I'll be impressed when someone eats a 3DS (or DSi) XL
I have this model sitting behind me, so yea it's real. I don't care what it looks like it plays the games as good as the rest.
