I wasn't listing all the PS3 exclusives, I was listing what PS3 exclusives appeal to me. This is about what appeals to the individual. There isn't anything wrong with any exclusive, no matter what I feel about it. I just wanted people to express what they like. I have picked the right console - all of them, as I like having choices. Thing is, we have moved to a point where owning just one console (of the 360/PS3) is possible as the world of the exclusive has receded quite badly.

What does that even mean? Because you don't like those games they must not be good and people are only mentioning them to justify their purchase?

What it means is that some people will just add games that aren't really system sellers for themselves, just to pad out the list. I could have added Atelier games and probably more to my list, but they aren't absolute must have games for me, there is a distiction. Justifying a purchase is about adding those "tier 2" games, so that it looks like you made a good choice. There isn't anything wrong with the "tier 2" games, have mine and glad I bought them, but it is different.

Not exactly a plethora of titles is it? Hardly worth owning a PS3 for in my case. Yet I wouldn't want to have missed out on the 5 of those I have and thoroughly enjoyed.

Notice how I use the term "my case"? I repeatedly supported my view as to why I am glad I bought a PS3. I asked people to discuss it from their perspective. I don't care to justify buying a PS3 to anyone or why one console is better than another. I just wanted people to talk PS3 only and what the exclusives mean to them. The fact that some people don't read and jump to conclusions is hardly my fault.

Infamous 1&2 (The second game may not be that big a leap, but they are still both amazing)

Little Big Planet 2 (some of the most creative level designs you will ever see, and those are just the levels that come with it)

MGS4 (worth it even if you don´t like the gameplay of the series)

Ratchet and Clank Future & A Crack in Time

Uncharted 2 (a really solid third person shooter and totally worth it if you want to feel like Indiana Jones)

Wipeout HD

MotorStorm Pacific Rift

Heavy Rain (if you can get it for cheap, since it is worth getting just to experience it. Not a good game, not even a very good movie.. but somehow a great experience)

There are a lot of games worth getting for the system. Anybody who will tell you otherwise is either a fanboy idiot or should just stop playing games since he can´t enjoy them.

I don't think you need to own multiple consoles in any generation unless you're the type of gamer who gets really heartbroken or enraged by the fact that there is a game that you can't play or if you play like 80+ games a year so there is a real possibility of literally running out of games to play if you only own one console. Both systems have massive libraries. For every game that you can't play on one, there is a great game you can play on the other.

This was the first gen I owned two consoles during the generation and it was almost a complete waste of money imo. There's nothing wrong with my second one (PS3) and it's got fine games but it collects gaming dust outside of maybe 10 or 11 months a year. It's my goto Netflix box though.

10 games worth getting a PS3 for? A PS3 is only $200. The price of about 3 new games with tax. You make it sound like $200 is some untouchable number. Get it or don't WIthout a 360/PS3/Gaming class PC you can't play all of the best games on the market. Nuff said.

You seem to be into JRPGs, then you should also take a look at classic PS1 JRPGs which blow todays RPGS out of the water. FF 7, 8, 9, Xenogears, Chrono Cross are absolute must haves for anyone who thinks they are a fan of JRPGS.

Others have listed all the games, plus you got FFX HD coming aswell as PS2 titles. All this adds up to a system that offers alot in terms of what you enjoy

I am a proud owner of both consoles and as of late there have been more exclusives for the PS3 that just aren't offered elsewhere. For someone who'd decide to take the plunge into the world of Sony, there's just naturally more room for discovery as there is a wider set of exclusives. As much as preferences and proclivites towards any given type of game differs from gamer to gamer, it's honestly not a matter of whether or not the system is worth owning -- it is, because there are great games and most, if not all, titles have already been mentioned. Insofar as those games are concerned, it has a wide library of games and exclusives to choose from. If it's worth owning for, really comes down to the question of wanting to give games you otherwise wouldn't be getting your hands on a go or not, and they're just as ambitiously realzed as the ones that started out as exclusives on the 360, and the few ones that remain as of today. The market has changed for Microsoft, because, heey, PCs are not a stranger to its very own brand, Microsoft, so it's in their interest to have a certain degree of cross-pollinaton across its hardware. Who does Sony have? Itself.

@BestUsernameEver: The only Lumines games that should ever be recommended are Puzzle Fusion and Electronic Symphony. Everything else is not as good and even Electronic Symphony has issues.

Looking at some lists I think a lot of people are either missing the point or have some severe "beer goggles" on when it comes to the quality of the games they list.

It says exclusives WORTH owning a ps3 for, not every exclusive you can think of.

In order of significance (in my opinion):

1. Uncharted series

3. LittleBigPlanet series

4. Ratchet and Clank Future series

5. Infamous series

7. 3D Dot Game Heroes (a game that too few people know of)

Also, there are TONS of great PSN exclusives and PS1 classics (if you missed them way back when) worth playing.

I don't own a PS3, but I couldn't think of 10 for the Xbox 360 either. There just hasn't been much this generation. I can think of tons for all the last generation consoles though. It seems they are moving away from exclusives. I don't think that is a good thing either. Exclusives give you a reason to own one console over another, or a reason to buy a second console.  I'll certainly buy the next Xbox just for Forza 5.

Besides the stuff everybody else is listing, I got it for games that most people don't like but I do like Yakuza.

I also got it to import games like tales of Xillia. (and Gal Gun, like Jeff... just kiddin... but not really... maybe...)

Demon's Souls and Journey are worth owning a PS3 for alone. Uncharted 2 and 3 were also really incredibly crafted games, despite their linearity. Really artistically put together in pretty much every respect.

The 360 is my point ..... you are right, most games aren't exclusive these days and it does kind of make owning both consoles a bit more difficult to justify (The Wii is completely different, as Nintendo have so many exclusive games the list could be extremely long depending on your tastes).

I only listed a subjective list of what mattered to me, which is why I could only hit 6 games. The other games already mentioned like LittleBigPlanet, Unchartered, God of War, Metal Gear Solid or Killzone just don't hold any appeal to me. I do think some people will just add games they like, as opposed to being really honest about games they must have - perhaps to justify their purchase, but again, this is purely personal taste and there is no such thing as a right or wrong answer.

What's the difference between a game I like and a game I want to play? Also if you're already going to frame the entire thing in the realm of the subjective, what's the point in trying to argue that people are not being "honest"? Though given your username, I guess you're just being true to it.

The difference is pretty simple I would have thought. I am talking about what you would consider AAA titles, the kind of games you are likely to buy early and at near full price. Other games are those you can wait for the inevitable price drop because although you know you will enjoy it, you are not that bothered if you never get around to it.

For me, a good JRPG is my AAA (such as a Tales or Gisgaea game) and a racing car game is something I can wait for (as it will get cheap quick and still be fun).

Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, Infamous, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Dust 514 (I count this one because you can play it right now if you want for $20), Resistance (I'm counting the series as one entry, since each feels different from the other but one may not be better then the others, but I'd recommend 2), PixelJunk (once again, the series as a whole is great), Killzone (series, but I prefer Killzone 2)..... Wait, thats ten.

But this is a personal preference argument. For example, I could not make this same list for any other system currently out (well, maybe the DS if I thought about it hard enough).
