First off giant bomb is a fantastic site though i'm also on raptr which is a tracking site. They track:steam,wow,xbl and yes even PSN TROPHIES-they even sync facebook and twitter feeds,im etc,etc.

If raptr can do it then perhaps things have changed over @ sony as the world gets more social it's unavoidable though sony could be a giant stick in the mud and go against the grain as it were.

I've been wondering about this also. I've asked questions but the only answers I received were the usual ones.

• Because Sony didn't give Giant Bomb permission
• Because Raptr is going behind Sony's back
• Because tracking PSN trophies is lame and pointless

Trust me. No matter how many times you ask you're never going to get a real answer. My theory is (this is only a theory and Giant Bomb MAY NOT actually be doing this) that Giant Bomb just decided to stop dealing with PSN.

Raptr are using a crazy ass workaround to get it to work. In order to get Raptr to pull your PSN trophies you need to download the Raptr client. That client then checks the PSN website, pulls your trophies from it, and then sends them to Raptr. Raptr's servers are never actually accessing the PSN website. If they tried to do that, they would get blocked very quickly. Your own computer is accessing the PSN website for Raptr. A workaround like this would probably be pretty infeasible for Giant Bomb.

I was actually just looking at Jeff´s profile to see if he had larger Forza 4 screenshots uploaded then he used in his article, when i noticed an extreme amount of "achievements" add to his profile, including Killzone 3. So that got me really excited! Hopefully my trophies get synced soon :P Good news!

If WoW achievements are tracked, do your Starcraft 2 achievements show up as well? Diablo 3?

Well that's cool. Having just joined I was thinking this was the only thing I'd add to my profile. Not so much so that people can see my trophies (most of the time I'm sure nobody cares) but more so there's an easier record of what I've played recently.

As exciting as this tease is, the problem currently is that Sony is SHIT at logging trophies. I mean, on your PS3 they certainly all work out. But check the site; you'll see all sorts of stuff missing.

HOw do i get my 360 achievements on this giantbomba??? it says profile is private. now if i remeber correctly there was a code involved

I totally didn't care about this a year ago, but now that I've actually got a PS3 and have been playing hella exclusive PS3 games, I couldn't be more psyched.

Since I mostly play on my PS3, I would really like that sync up and running again. It would be fantastic!

There's a way to pull trophy data without accessing the Sony website, won't bother going into details here but it's probably the method Giant Bomb plans on using.

We use it on http://gamercards.exophase.com/psn/leaderboard/. Tracks every PSN game and auto updates.

Anyone know exactly why Sony is being a dick about giving out gamers' trophy info? I mean seriously, what the hell? That's all I have is a PS3 and it may seem like nothing but dammit, when there's no rhyme or reason given for their actions it just sends a bad impression.

All I can say is that it's not just Sony. Microsoft has the Xbox Community Developer program but it is useless for getting achievement data. All you have access through it is total gamerscore and total achievements earned. To get individual achievements you have to scrape the Live profile pages, which is tricky since Microsoft is always changing its pages, plus the login form for accessing that part of the site requires JavaScript. A simple CURL script won't work anymore.

That said, the program also seems to be abandoned now... it's completely gone from the Xbox site and they haven't added new sites into it for years.

Microsoft also made a recent change that displays only black and white achievement images, in order to get the color ones you have to be logged into an account that has the achievement. I've not found a way around this and it seems GB is using the same method since all achievement images here for new games are B&W. TrueAchievements adds the color ones manually.

any word on if this is getting rolled out anytime soon?
