Does anyone have any info about when they are going to release the new 80GB version?  I have a wii and 360 but am thinking about adding a PS3 to the collection for games like LBP, Killzone and potentially MAG.
Any info/advise would be greatly appreciated.

well i guess you cant go wrong having all 3 systems. are you wanting it for exclusives? and which system are you getting muilitipats on? just wondering :P i have a ps3 and wii and im glad i have both. if i had the money for 360 i may get one but i would maybe wait for some things to be fixed on it.

Well I will probably catch shit for it in this forum but my primary platform is 360 for many reasons (a few being consistent online experience, most of my friends being on that plat and achievements)  the ps3 will only be for platform exclusives and blu-ray movies.

Don't think they have.

Sometime this fall the new 80GB will come.

80GB is coming to UK in one week. Europe don't get screwed over after all.

I would get the older SKU though.

It is done ... just got the call and the wife picked one up at BestBuy....  only thing left is to swipe an HDMI cable from pop's house.
Any advice or recommendations as I embark on this adventure?

okay home and it's all hooked up ... gotta say so far the user experience is not so great.

controller battery dead ... super short charging cable causing me to stand inches from the TV.

composite cables .... really?

an hour to download and install a system update.  WTF!?

so after nearly 2 hours I am ready to fire up a game.  here goes nothing.

UPDATE:  and the game says the console is out of disk space .... HOLY CRAP!  WHAT A POS!

I really don't get why people have such problems hooking up the PS3 and everything. It took me about half an hour to get everything set up perfectly, including a PS3 account, maybe because my PS3 is in my room and I have really fast internet but...still.

Dude go for the 80GB, well if you don't care about backwards compatibility get the slim. But no matter what PS3 is a choice piece of hardware whatever you get you'll be satisfied.
