Yep so summer is going by really fast this year. I went to portland, seattle, and victoria canada. Also later on i went to Cedar Point. I have started drivers ed which is really  really boring and i started marching band which is taking up my summer..

As for games this summer i got infamous and call of juarez, and blazblue. My favorite is defiantly infamous. Its truly a amazing game. I also started up uncharted again to get the plat and i forgot how amazing the game is. Still is beautiful to look at and plays amazingly. Its got me hyped again for uncharted 2 which i also got the beta for and it was really fun and i thought online wouldnt work that well but i was wrong. :P

So yep that pretty much sums up my summer. Next game im getting is Wolfenstain.

Uncharted Drakes Fortune came out in fall 2007 and got really good reviews for having a amazing single player mode. Recently Naughty Dog announced that Uncharted 2 will have 10 player competitive battles and 3 player co-op but for a heavily story based game can it be a online game too? With the beta invite I got to see.

Competitive impressions:

Starting up a game in uncharted 2 is easy and sometimes hard. It varies from a game starting in 4 seconds to about 1-2 mins. Once your in the game you get to choose from 2 maps to play in called Plaza and Ruins map. Everyone in the game votes for whichever one they want.

Before hand it would be smart to choose your "perks" you get 2 they go like more ammo in 1 clip, better accuracy with long guns or short guns etc. You also get to choose your own character. You can choose one of the heros like drake or sully and for the other side different types of soilders but all of the characters are equal. The run same speed, same amount of health, and all can use any gun.

Now when the game starts up (after a very brief loading screen) you of coarse start with your team with the opponite on the other side. Near you will be guns that you can pick up. You start with a ak47 and a normal pistol. Around you will be a shotgun, FAL, gernades, and more ak47's. you can grab any of them really fast and be on your way. Some guns will be hidden threw out the level like the uzie, desert eagle, chain gun, or sniper rifle and all of these guns are perfectly balanced. like the chain gun is yes very powerful and has lots of ammo but you cant hide behind cover, jump, and you are extremly slow. The FAL shoots out 3 bullets at a time but also when you zoom in you get a red dot cross hair which helps you out a lot.

The leveling up system is that for doing different things you get $ (xp). Like getting a 5 kill streak you get about 1000~ dollars also winning the match getting kills all of course help level you up. So its a pretty basic system.

Map Plaza.
This map is of a city going through its cival war. its wrecked and walls are blown up, cars, and some sandbags. All of them can be used for cover which is needed for this game. You could choose to be running around on foot hidding and facing off guys. or climb up buildings to attack from above but anytime in the level and you hear a helicopter coming make sure to find cover because it shoots at both teams and its deadly.

Map Ruins.
This map of course is in a old city of ruins (duh) which is a lot of the time where your at in the 1st game.

Now with all of this going on you may think "well is there any lag?". The answer is no. This game runs beautifuly. It has upgraded graphics from the first, added more gameplay elements, and online it runs without any lag with 10 players.

co-op impressions:

Well as said above you can do 3 man co-op. You get to play as Drake, sully, or Chloe. Each person seems to have a different part. When i got to play i was drake and when something needed to be climbed i had the honers while sully lifted me up and chloe covered if any enemies showed up. The levels we play online arn't related at all to the single player campagn. You maybe in similar looking areas but the mission and what you do is different. Each level is about 20 mins long so its a decent amount of time but hopfully you get with people that do do team work or you could all fail the mission. The levels definatly have challenge to them but most of it is that your continualy getting surrounded by enemies and your team having to fight them off til you can go to the next area where you will be surrounded but its still fun and it may sound repetitive but thats cause its in text and your not playing it..


All in all its a great beta and online game. For a game in the first one surrounded by story the 2nd one did a kick ass job of getting online 10 players and co-op matches right.  I know when it comes out this fall that both sp and mp will be excellent.

Well i again haven't been on giantbomb but now cause we just got a new computer, its a HP and i got it spore for it and love it :) after i got to space stage i got left 4 dead and im loving it too just it doesnt run that well it seems.  my specs are

and runs on vista

i am enjoying it so far and no this isnt a gaming computer its a family computer that im playing a couple games on (as above spore and l4d and soon crysis hopefully).

other than that really is the killzone 2 demo ROCKS. i had to switch controls tho, the default felt weird. great visuals, gameplay, and cover system. and it will be a day 1 buy for me.

if you haven't checked the ps3 top posters you will notice a slight change :) i took sentry's long held 2nd slot and now it has me.

also in other news your going down liquidprince. im going to take 1st

well these are my awards for goty etc. (these will mainly be ps3 games since i didnt get many wii or ds games)

most under rated game
choices: dark sector, the world ends with you, and valkyria chronicles.
Winner:the world ends with you-it got good reviews but people never mention it as a great game. its one of the best games and sure shot for goty.
best shooter
choices are: call of duty waw, resistance 2, and battlefield bad company
Winner: resistance 2-a very good shooter with good story, coop, and a killer online. definatly worthy of best shooter
best cover system
choices are: dark sector, mgs4, or rainbow 6 vegas 2
Winner: dark sector- mgs4 and r6v2 cover systems did not help as much in the game as dark sector did. dark sector's cover system protected you well.
best rpg
choices are: disgaea 3, world ends with you, and valkayria chronicles
Winner: the world ends with you-a different type of rpg that did everything very good.
best new ip
choices are: valkayria chronicles, mirrors edge, little big planet, and world ends with you
Winner: little big planet-definatly a very good game and will have people playing for a long time.
best sequal
choices are: mgs4, call of duty waw, and gta4
Winner:mgs4- none of the other sequals this year could not improve as much as mgs4 did.
best racer
choices are: burnout paradise, mario kart wii, and gt5p
Winner: mario kart wii- its mario kart theres no other racer that could beat out mk wii
best visuals
choices are: valkayria chronicles, mgs4, gta4, and prince of persia
Winner: mgs4- a stunning game with its visuals but i do love valkayria chronicles art style alot
best online game
choices are: call of duty waw, resistance 2, and battlefield bad company
Winner:call of duty waw- this game will have me hooked for a long time.
GOTY (if a game won one of the above its up for goty)

Now for the worst games that i have played this year
Worst game of the year
Grand theft auto 4-completly destroyed what made gta games fun and threw it out the window. realism in gta4 was epic failure and just not fun AT ALL.

worst news: final fantasy 13 going mulitiplat. i wouldnt mind this if it didnt delay the release of it for a year or so.
