Am I the only one that couldn't care less about trophies? I was never into the achievements thing either.

The PlayStation 3 (often abbreviated PS3) is the third home video game console created and released by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
Wow, trophies!
If they're factored around fun challenges, then sure, I like trying for them. They can also help developers in directing the player to explore more of a game than they'd normally would, helping them get the most out of it.
Developers need to learn how to make them interesting. hell, for the most part, developers still haven't learned to do it with achievements. There are a small amount of developers who take the time to make them interesting.
I would have to say Crackdown probably has the best achievement set on the 360.
I would like to see how the trophies turn out, although I'm pretty bummed that Sony didn't have the foresight to include them from the start like MS did with achievements. They did have a year to think about it. Now it just seems half assed.
I think it really makes you play the game in a different way, and perhaps makes the game more interesting. I can only speak to Super Stardust HD since it is the only game with trophies right now, but it really adds another layer of depth to the gameplay. This might not be difficult in a game like Stardust, so I'm interested to see what developers can do to more complex games.
I was never into achievements either. Trophies are nice, I'm not going to go buy a game just for trophies but if I've got a game with trophies then sure I'll try to get them. But I'm not going to go mad about them.
I like the idea and once they're wide-spread I'll probably go get the fun ones. But I doubt I'll play horrible games just to get some trophies.
I'm actually pretty interested in what Jack meant at E3 when he said they would be rewarding us in "interesting ways" for getting trophies. Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone got any ideas? There have been rumors pre-E3 that you would be able to exchange trophies for discounts in the PlayStation Store. No follow up story though, so we have to wait and see.

"Trophies and Achievements are great because they add a little extra life to your games by giving you new objectives to reach.Word. I like them because it gives you a different way to play.
"
Not many games have it but the last game I bought (Burnout) is getting them anyway. The other 2 games I like will have them also (Uncharted, Warhawk). Besides like every game I want this fall will have them.
"It's probably a nice feature for some. But I won't be hunting for them like a mad man.Same. Some trophies i may try to get, or if someone i bragging about a trophy I haven't got then I will be determined to get it but otherwise it won't matter much. good feature though

"I didn't think that I would care too much about Trophies, however, I found obtaining them oddly addicting in Super Stardust HD."They are just meant to add replay value.
"they're ok so far. i'm not big on em yet....Yeah, bad thing is that they are barely used at the moment.
but i'll probably care once they start coming bundled with games like in PJE

yer, I dont really care for them at all. Im not going to play bad games for easy trophies thats for sure!
Yeah, the good thing about trophies is that they aren't a numerical value, so you're not seduced into playing bad games just to raise the number.
