Looks like the new firmware update launched the Plus subscription option. I signed up, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Right now, there's a 60 minute Infamous demo, Rally Cross for Playstation Classics, Age of Zombies, which is a playstation mini, a couple free avatars and themes, and discounts on some Midway games. Kind of a weak launch, but at least I got a free 3 months for signing up.

Hmm. Thanks for letting me know. I'm somewhat interested in signing up for this,  I need to see some of the stuff in action though.

The $18 for 3 months is Sony saying "yo, we can't divide."

how big of a price cut is it on the midway stuff? and here is a link for those interested in the new firmware.

Oh, there's a discount on the new Fat Princess DLC, too.

I will definitely try this out, three months free and free games every month and cross game chat and the other stuff is a win for me.

It's not a bad service - it's just for things I don't particularly need. Hopefully with this added revenue, this allows Sony to essentially buy exclusive content from publishers. PSN+ exclusive betas and content seems like a future...
