Great deal on PS Vita at Amazon
May I present to you Giant Bomb's Vita Editor: Brad Shoemaker https://twitter.com/bradshoemaker/status/272069835163332608
Here is the link
If I could get one for this price in the UK, I'd be more than sold.
All of the deals over here have been pretty terrible.
I bought mine. Me so excited!

This finally made me buy a Vita even though I'm in Canada an have to pay an extra $40 in shipping and import crap. Still better than the 199 BLOPS vita package they're offering up here.
What can I do with a 4 gb card though? How many of the PS+ games can I download before it's full?

I finally caved in and pulled the trigger. I've been looking for an excuse (beyond wanting to play Persona 4: Golden) to pick up a Vita and this seemed like the opportune time. Besides, Brad is an enabler! And the white Vita is sexy.
@Hunkulese: I've been doing some research and it sounds like not many. For instance, if you are going the Playstation Plus route, Uncharted alone is a bit over 3 gbs. While that is on the larger size, I wouldn't expect to get more than one or two games on that card. I sprung for a 16 gb myself. Seems like a good intermediate step before spending 80 bucks.
@Snail: Too bad! Do it!
@Hunkulese: Uncharted is the biggest game I know of so far and it's 1.7 so probably 2 or 3 at a time. I'm going to have to delete games after I beat them.

The free PS+ games on Vita and it being one hell of a deal made me go for it. I would've never paid $250 for it but when I saw it on cheapassgamer, I cried of happiness. AC3 with PS All Stars and 3 more months of + for me is a solid deal. I'm going to have 8 games for that sexy White Vita come Monday. Woo!

Same here, estimated shipping date December 18th...

Having to drop 50 bucks for a 16 GB memory card is a buzz killer. I suppose now is the best time to bite the bullet.
@MikkaQ: It also comes with PS All Stars, $10 coupon for AC3 and 3 months of plus so you did miss out a bit. Only a bit.

I'm the only guy on this site who hasn't played any Persona nor plan on playing it. What's so good about it? I never read up on it.
Thanks to this post I finally bought a vita! Considering how long that thing has been on my amazon wishlist (the AC bundle specifically) and how ridiculously good that price was I couldn't resist. I usually balk at white handheld systems, but for some reason I'm completely cool with it here. I see some playstation+ games in my future.

Yup. The Amazon UK deals have been kinda crappy to be honest.
I just looked it up and on Amazon UK the same Vita bundle is £230 ($370). There's a part of me that wouldn't mind having a Vita, but at that price, that's never going to happen. Fuck that price.
I broke down and bought one with a case. But I'm not completely crazy, so I canceled the orders I had on Amazon before it, saving me about $60.

Well damn. That is a bummer. But I already played AC3 and if I get All Stars it'll the the PS3 version, so I can swap between 'em. I would love to try plus though. Ah well.
Hey look, apparently the 32GB Vita memory cards are not for the Vita, but the 3DO.
Some intern is giggling to himself, or it's a really strange and specific bug. Why does Amazon even have the 3DO as a possible platform anyway? Shit was dead long before Amazon came around.

@awesomeusername: It actually looks like Uncharted is 2.7 according to this. But while looking around today I've heard a bunch of numbers thrown out, so I'm not sure what is true.
The article I looked at was probably old so 2.7 is probably with the patches. Oh well.
@MikkaQ: I don't even like All Stars so it being free is just a plus for me to have more games and trophies. Get PS+ man.
@Salesmunn: Get it.
@Vanek: Gamestop UK had them for £155 this morning with Need for Speed, which isn't bad.. but when you're still having to buy ridiculously priced memory cards on top of that, it feels less and less like a good deal.
I'm hoping Shopto or Amazon notice how well they're selling in the US and take advantage of that. I'd definitely pay a good £130-ish for the Assassins Creed bundle.

I have a launch Vita with a 32GB card with about two pages of games saved on the device, I think I have about 12GB of space left at this point. I would go 32GB if I were you.

I'm the only guy on this site who hasn't played any Persona nor plan on playing it. What's so good about it? I never read up on it.
It's a solid turn based RPG filled with a lot of other mechanics like a social dating sim side where you create "social links" that will help you have stronger "personas" for battle which are essentially like pokemon in that there are so many to create/have and you can exploit specific enemy weaknesses to make battles easier.
You don't need to play the previous games to get what's going on because they are all pretty much standalone with their own story arch.
@Colourful_Hippie: I know they're all standalone titles and RPG's and that you get sucked into tv's and people die. But that was it. I'll have to watch some YouTube videos of it.
@WinterSnowblind: If they were as low as £130 for that AC bundle I would buy one in a second. Heck I could probably deal with £150 for the AC bundle, or even just for the Vita and a decent memory card, but that's as high as I'd go.
It's probably never going to get that low which is the sad part so I doubt I'll buy one for a long time. I should really stop reading stories about US deals and stop looking at the US Amazon website because it really bums me out. >.<
I just said fuck it since we don't get free shipping anyway and paid the extra $10 to get it by Wednesday@Hunkulese said:

The timing is perfect. Between this and P4G I see no reason why ANY GB fan should not own a Vita at this point.
@Bassman2112: Whoops. Didn't mean to come off as an internet cynic.
I just don't think that this is a good time in the Vita's life cycle to get one. There aren't many games to play on it (P4G, LBP, and maybe Gravity Rush and SoundShapes). Throwing down money for an unproven system bundled with a mediocre game is not something I would personally do. There is nothing inherently wrong with a Vita but I want to wait till it has things I can do on it. And by that point it should drop in price a little bit.
I don't have a clear recollection of what I've been saying to people on the forums but I do remember telling someone to not put matches in their ear so that might be a little negative. All in jest, good sir.
@musclerider: Fair enough, kind gentlesir. I totally get and respect that haha. I am not of the same opinion, but again, get & respect it =)
I think the Vita is actually starting to hit its stride a little bit,. Now that + has been introduced, it seems like the platform could potentially be something really interesting in the coming year(s). I also think 179 is probably a perfect price point if you want to get in on it a little early. Sure, Liberation is nothing fantastic; but All-Stars actually seems kind of cool, and there are some other pretty good games out (same ones you listed, plus Most Wanted, Mutant Blobs Attack, Wipeout, MK, all those PSOne classics, et cetera)
I hope the Vita gets a burst in support from this sale, it'd be nice to see it flourish rather than fail.

A lot of us seem to be since that bundle and P4G are the two top sellers on the Vita charts at Amazon.
That all said... PC gamer here who is picking up a Vita to have around as my one nod towards console stuff for decidedly non-PC style gaming. What else (aside from P4G) is worth looking at on the platform? Really hot to play PSO II on the Vita when it comes out and will probably get to the bundle AC game at some point.
@Vitamin_Dei: Mortal Kombat is a good version of the original, Mutant Blobs Attack is a short fun game, I'm enjoying Most Wanted a lot, LBP is endearing, I've heard Gravity Rush is pretty cool, and if you have PS+ you get some of those games & more haha =)
@musclerider: I also think the Vita is a good system to own if you're in a situation like I am. I've never owned a PSP or PS1, and those games look gorgeous on the Vita's screen, so I'm looking forward to playing some of the Final Fantasy and Persona games I've missed over the years, on top of all the new stuff that will (eventually) come out.
