Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Sep 12, 2009
Remakes of the original Game Boy Color games, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are given updated graphics and gameplay on the Nintendo DS.
Heart Gold or Soul Silver? Chikorita, Totodile or Cyndaquil?
These are questions that have been bothering me for awhile, it's always the same with Pokémon games.
This time though I think I'm gonna go with Heart Gold and Totodile because Ho-Oh is better than Lugia and fire and flying and Feraligatr is the best of the three and water element.
Normaly with Pokémon games I try to wait for the third edition of the generations, like Crystal, Emerald and Platinum and fail miserably. But I don't have to worry about Heart Gold/Soul Silver because no third editon for Leaf Green/Fire Red ever turned up.
BTW, I think the Silver/Gold generation is the best!
(And I'm 14 so I think I have the right to still be a huge Pokémon geek.)
Ho-Oh is the better legendary Pokemon of the two. However, why do you think Totodile is the best starter Pokemon?
I'm going with Gold as it was the version I owned back when I was a kid. I am pumped for the coming weeks when it is released. Don't feel embarrassed for playing Pokemon. I am 19 and I still play every now and then. Most of my friends still play as well.
Edit: As for starter, I usually roll with the water type. They generally are the most useful for the earlier gym battles.
Soul Silver. I was more familiar with Lugia than Ho-oh because of the second Pokemon movie back when I was younger. Plus, the original Silver was my first Pokemon game.
As for my starter, I choose Cyndaquil. I like fire.
The only thing I hated about gold and silver back in the day were the starter pokemon. They're so lame compared to Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.
I would say Tododile or Cyndaquil, because their final forms are much cooler than Chikorita's.
i plan to go with soul silver, as for started i would have to choose chikorita, unlike totodile it doesnt completely suck when it comes to stats and move set
I'm also 14 so I loved Gold/Silver too. Cyndaquil was my Pokemon and I leveled him up to a lvl 100 Typhlosion,
I always pick the water but with gold/silver I have to go with Cyndaquil his movepool is epic I use flamethrower, sunny day, solarbeam and focusblast and hold a heat rock for longer sunny day lol
Its great when i sunny day and my opponent switches to a water type then i solarbeam him for a 1 hit KO also you must max SPA ev and speed EV lol iv been playing these games since 95
SNORLAX is still the best
I never start with one of the three starting Pokémon. I mix it up and trade my starter away for a Pokémon you normally never get to train through the game. For Heart Gold, I'm rolling with a Starmie.
I've played too much Gold. I think I'll go back to my days with Silver, and get the closest DS relative to that version instead. The non-conformist in me wants a pussy Pokemon, too, so obviously Chikorita.
I already have them all in pearl : ) But, I'm probably going to go with cyndaquill first and eventually get the rest. I chose totodile way back when so I'm changing things up this time. It's ok to be a pokemon nerd, Pokemon are awesome!!!!
This is tough for me. Usually, I start out with the Leaf Pokemon as my starting Pokemon, but I think that Gold/Silver had perhaps the weakest of all the games.
Not that I don't like Chikorita, but compared to Cyndaquil and Totodile, it's definitely not as easy for me to pick it. I'll probably end up starting with Chikorita or Cyndaquil.
Oh, and picking up Heartgold.
i had to choose heart gold and totodile just like when i was fivish see being fourteen it was the first one i everplayed and i got a level one hundred level 90 feraligater hooh combo it ruled then i found out about lugia and i had to restart but totodile was still the one i picked because hes practicall a water dragon
