Are you sure it's kosher to add games you haven't played to your top 10 list? If I'm gonna post a list I'd probably have to do the same, though. I've skipped over many of this year's triple A titles--figuring I could always buy them later down the line, while obscure/quirky DS games like Princess Debut might not be as easy to obtain later on.

There're a lot more than just 3 must-owns for PS2, but if you can only get 3 I'd make them all different genres:
Dragon Quest VIII (screw Final Fantasy; this is the best JRPG of all time; get it at all costs)
God Hand (3D brawler; probably the most challenging game on the PS2)
Jak II or 3 (GTA clone/platformer hybrid)
