I think Nintendo is particularly using the term "core" gamer to make the term sound a little less alienating to "casual" players. I personally hate the fact that gamers are stratifying themselves into "core" and "casual". Casual has somehow become some kind of 4 letter word, and I don't understand why people hate different people who like playing other games. Terms like "hardcore", "casual", and "fanboy" all piss me the hell off because it just encourages us to think of ourselves as different/better/superior to other people. I play games, I like games, that's all I really care about.
You know? I tried their new angus burgers, and I still say I like the quarter pounder or double quarter pounder. Actually doublecheeseburger has the best value and unhealthiness for money.
