The past few months there has been a lot of harsh criticism and/or bashing of the Giant Bomb community. I was one of these critics. However, I didn't realize until now how good we have it. Sure we have our low points like the numerous "girl topics" that end in spectacular failure, the "quest spam" that has put many regular users off, or the usual political or religious topics that turn into flame wars 2 pages in. We have many more highs points though, like that Starcraft thread where the guy's armor looks like a cat, the help that fellow user Aurahack received from everyone, anything BiffMcBlumpkin posts, this thing, and the awesome race nights for Forza 3.
 
What am I trying to get at? Well, I was completely and utterly wrong for thinking the Giant Bomb community was crappy because I forgot all about...

Yes, another run-of-the-mill fanboy bait article written by your friendly neighborhood IGN. All they are doing is just stating the obvious shit about the two consoles that anybody with reading comprehension skills can figure out on their own. This article exists for the sole purpose of creating another flamewar between the cults of the PS3 and Xbox 360. 
The comments section is rife with witty banter such as...

I agree. We're a real classy bunch compared to a lot of other online communities out there.

A lot of big sites do articles like that so they can just get traffic, which is sad.

It's funny that they do call upon it being a console war in the article. but comparing systems is a no big deal thing. I mean especially if they just wanted to compare the 360 slim.

Go to N4G.com and look at the comments on the articles. It is the most pathetic excuse for a conversation I have ever seen. I go to that site every now and then to laugh at the vapid fanboyism and ignorance of most of its commenters. IGN has it bad because its the most popular gaming site in terms of traffic, thus 12 year olds learn about it and spam worthless crap, about game reviews. "OMG, this game I've never played only got a 7!!, This reviewer sucks!"  
 
I love this site and its the only site I participate in because of the actual conversations that occur.

If you want to kill a couple hours go to IGN and go on the boards. Hilarious.

I like the community. Yeah we have our differences, but most of us don't care about that.

I don't know the GB community and I am oblivious to its customs and problems. I just come here to put my meaningless knowledge to good use and make stupid lists.

Wow, how lazy is IGN?  Do they really need clicks that badly?  All of those stats were known 5 years ago.  Write about something interesting ffs.

Honestly I don't really feel that things have changed much, but then again maybe that's because I was only a lurker and not a poster.

The only reason I followed the GB crew from back in the days is because they are close to my age. I also joined the GB forums because because it's not just a bunch of 15-18 olds being little shits on here. There's only one poster on here that I despise, my I never meet that guy in person, instant beatdown will ensue.

My experience on this site so far has been pretty nice and hassle-free. Or rather, I'm trying to avoid some of the hassle like some of the less desirable threads and blogs that continually creep up to the forums' first page. :P

I love some of these comments. One of them said Resistance 1 and 2 are better than every 360 game except Mass Effect, that made me lol.
