Video Game Locations I'd like to Visit

Just a list of video games that I really like the setting. I believe a good setting can really make a game and suck you into that world even more, which is why I am making this list

List items

  • My favorite game of all time has to go on the list. It goes without saying. But yeah from the beginning I always loved the scenery in this game and to see all that crazy Japanese fantasy stuff would be epic. I'm not much of a japan-o-file or really that into anime, but hey I can still imagine right?

  • Lol now I really look like an anime nerd. No but seriously this game has some great places, like the island they start on, not to mention all of the Disney places that I loved watching growing up as a kid. I guess it's for Nostalgia's sake.

  • Probably my Favorite location in a video game of all time. Everything about the town is just fantastic. Love how it's always at sunset, and I absolutely love the music in this section. It's awesome to me that I can feel nostalgia for a game as recent as this. Gives me hope for the future of gaming. I know it must seem like I am a fanboy of this game, but to be honest I think I am. I really enjoy the Kingdom Hearts franchise and it's been a long time since I've nerded out as much for a game as this.

  • I know it looks like I'm a huge old school Nintendo fanboy, but I'll admit it I am. Growing up with these games really makes me respect everything about them, and miss there unmistakable charm. Part of what made Donkey Kong Country (just the first not the shitty sequels) so awesome was the constantly changing and unique environments. From lush jungles to riding on mine carts this game really stood out graphically and creatively for that matter.

  • Who doesn't want to get on Epona and ride around Hyrule like a badass? Such a cool and beloved world, that it's pretty obvious why it's on my list.

  • Yeah I know I already said Hyrule, but this version is my favorite, even if it is underwater. There was a real unbridled sense of adventure in this game, that wasn't necessarily absent from the other games, but not as profound as in this one. Sailing from island to island on the unpredictable seas unaware of where you'd wash up was quite the experience and I really enjoyed it, even though it did take a while lol.

  • I guess I picked this setting over all the other one's in Mario games because it's the most unique. who wouldn't like to jump from planet to planet with zero gravity?

  • Nothing at the time could have drawn me into a gaming experience more than the first half life. You really felt like you were IN THE SHIT of things. You're just going to work when all hell breaks loose and you're just trying to get the fuck out of there alive. And along the way you slowly begin to see all the corruption and insane alien destruction. I remember just being amazed at the creepy atmosphere. Of being afraid of what was going to be around the next corner. Especially the bosses they were so crazy and unique that it scared the piss out of me. HL2 and on have been less creepy and remember able, but they are also pretty cool, just less impacting i think. Maybe I wouldn't like to visit Black Mesa or Xen per se, but I respect what Valve did.

  • I know pretty grim and depressing. But who doesn't want to know what the world would be like after Armageddon? I love all the old music and the renewed sense of a final frontier. It's kind of taking things back to an old west feel, which I find pretty exciting. Hook me up with a shotgun , my Lincoln repeater, and some power armor and I'll go blast some wastelanders any day.

  • Kind of the same thing as Fallout. I love this old 1920's setting and music. And it would be cool to visit an underwater world... minus all the splicers lol.
