@alyssia: I definitely think Minecraft is still relevant. It doesn't get a lot of coverage on this site but it's still trucking along selling millions of copies (I believe it's the third best-selling video game ever). I see Minecraft guide books in the supermarket on the same shelves as proper novels. I think that every new generation of children will love Minecraft. I played with Lego as a kid and Minecraft seems similar, except the building is completely freeform, you can go adventuring (with a simple tech tree that children can understand) and you can do all this with your friends (online or split-screen). I wish I had this when I was growing up. It definitely doesn't appeal to everyone, but I think it's crazy to dismiss it. I have no idea if $2.5 billion is too much money, but I really think the game's kind of timeless and will stick around for years to come.

Thanks Patrick, I don't keep up with tech stuff so it was good this popped up on the website. If a piece of tech has a video game as part of it's reveal then it should be on here somewhere. Keep on keeping on dude.

I recently played Ico as part of the HD collection and absolutely loved it. I will say that your point on the lack of music is interesting, as for me the lack of music made the musical moments so much more meaningful. This is similar to Shadow of the Colossus, as both games had long periods of silence. While Shadow of the Colossus had more bombastic tracks, when I heard this song at the first save point in Ico I fell in love with the game.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 was (for me) worse than the Dungeon Keeper mobile uproar (though the situations were quite similar). Both games missed everything that was good about each franchise and replaced it with free-to-play mobile rubbish, offending the actual fans of each series who were hoping for a proper sequel. The whole affair just made me sad. I genuinely hope Atari can get it together and start putting out quality products again, but I think they've already lost me with their first move.

I voted for Arkham Asylum purely because it was so mechanically perfect and robust that when I first played it, it blew me away. Arkham City definitely refined that formula, but my memory of Arkham Asylum is going about searching for all of the audio logs because the voice acting and the writing for every single character was phenomenal. Both are great though.

Going back and watching some of my favourite Ryan moments (the SimCity quick look has possibly the most fantastic Ryan laughter in any video), reminds me of how friendly and kind he always seemed to be, with a never-ending supply of joy and enthusiasm. Rest in peace man, you'll always be missed.
