edge of nowhere really looks like a prototype of some uncharted knockoff that they bolted VR onto last second.

I was quite surprised with Dan being able to pluck the soldier guy out of thin air after he was thrown upward. I guess they might have increased the circle of the "hitbox" (for want of a better word) for contact with a hand when he's in the air, but then I've never played a VR game to see how accurate perspective is in that situation.

I don't own this game, but I can juggle in budget cuts and job simulator just fine. The controllers are really accurate. I was going to try juggling the controllers but I want some kind of mat on the floor just to make sure I don't mess them up.

Looks like the date was wrong in their link again (see the Paragon video comments), managed to guess it and this works for the HD version:

Thanks, that works great.

At their best unions provide a system of checks and balances between ownership, management, and rank and file workers. They provide a framework where 'power' is not solely invested in ownership or management, these checks and balances can be extremely useful for everyone.

One easy to understand benefit for owners and management is collective bargaining. Collective bargaining is a process of negotiation between employees and a group of employers aimed at agreements to regulate working salaries and benefits. It allows for pay and benefits to be a more easily calculated or managed for management and it allows expenses to be more easily forecast by owners.

That's literally the only way I've interfaced with my union(s) in my entire working life. Well, that, and getting my insurance through them since I got favorable terms over going through my bank. And one time I think I got some coupons for some percentage off on some concert tickets I had no interest in? Something like that.

Where I work now I know of at least 5 different organizations representing various different people as well as a bunch of people who aren't organized, and we're only like 300 people.

Hearing people from the US talk about this stuff is from my perspective frankly baffling. Baffling and quite sad. But that goes for a lot of social policy, so it probably shouldn't surprise me anymore.

I was worried this wouldn't be dumb enough, but it seems to have just moved a lot of the server dumbness into the local multiplayer modes. Might just have to get this for the PS4.

@mub: You should look at some video of the not-fisher price version of the tech.

Non-fisher price? You mean the overpriced Vive and Rift? The ones that have equally uninteresting and even worse content to "win you over" at a higher price?

Honestly if the future of gaming is boring first person games that need a screen wrapped to your head then it all seems bleak. No VR game has done anything interesting or actually worthwhile other than you put a over priced tv on your head to play shoot the guy 3: requiem now. Except I can play shoot the guy 3: requiem on my tv without awkward motion control gimmicks and the added effort of scrambling for a big plastic thing to strap to my head and a bunch of other things to attach to my limbs. Oh and then making space.

Seems like a redundant and counter intuitive way to play the same thing I can play right now on my computer?

Not so much over priced as higher quality and not sold at a loss. Different things. the PSVR is less than $100 cheaper than the Rift once you consider the $399 does not include the camera and move controllers. You need a more powerful machine to drive it, but that also means you get a better experience. The PS4 can barely drive mediocre visuals at 30 fps, and VR requires 90.

As for your characterization of VR as just display tech for existing kinds of games, I'll chalk that up to a lack of experience.

This whole "It's first gen tech, of course it's going to be a bit pricey" thing needs to stop. I could be on board with that if the pre-ordered items you received were all you needed, but they clearly are not. I haven't seen a single collection of replies, on GB or otherwise, that makes no mention of needing to upgrade just to use these headsets.

I know, people love shiny new things because humans are all easily impressed at heart, but we're talking hundreds if not thousands of dollars on top of the VR gear itself just to use it. That's insane. My computer isn't even that damn old and the idea that it requires a complete overhaul just so I can look like I slapped a black Virtual Boy on my head doesn't exactly sound like a selling point to me.

At this point, the only VR I would even consider is the Sony version and who the hell knows what that thing will actually cost in the long run. These things reek of 3D television to me: Too much marketing, too much money, not enough proof of concept.

Anyone who understands what these things are understand that they need a powerful graphics card. The only people who don't get that are the people who want a toy, and should probably get google cardboard instead.
