"Here's my stance. If the US waged a pre-emptive nuclear war, then we could certainly destroy any chance of anyone fighting back within a few hours. Excluding nuclear weapons, the US could potentially win a conventional war, if it had some sort of complete disregard for its own economy. Issuing a massive draft could recruit millions of soldiers, and spending the entire budget on the military would certainly turn the US into a war machine. Germany conquered almost all of Europe on its own back in WW2, so if the US, for whatever ridiculous reason, absolutely had to destroy every other country in the world no matter the cost to us, we could certainly do it."Actually, no you we couldn't. Believe it or not most countries with nuclear capacity have early warning systems for nukes launched against them, and they'd return fire to all of America's major cities, killing its economy. They probably wouldn't conventional war either, seeing as the citizens of the US wouldn't stand for all the negatives that come with that scale of war.
