Still no laptop. Sent it to the insurance people early last week. If they can't repair it will will get a nice cheque to go towards a nice shiny new one!
But still no call from them. There are taking there sweet time while I am stuck here laptopless. To make it worse I have a lot of coursework to do, I mean a LOT of coursework to do. Oh how that laptop would come in handy right about now.
By murder I mean brakes. An by thousands I meant my laptop.
There I was innocently typing away on my laptop doing a school assignment while talking to some friends on MSN. Next thing I know, a face appears on the screen an introduced himself as "Fate" he then said "I'm about to piss on your laptop" then vanished next thing I know my laptop explodes into a fireball and knocks me into the stratosphere.
(The above may be slightly exadurated)
So now I am left with a scrap laptop way out of warrenty with a fried motherboard. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Well, I wouldn't really call it mighty - it had 300mb RAM, the rest deteriorated itself over time. The most valuable thing on the laptop was the assignment I was writing at the time.
Guess I'll give the insurance a call, see what's to happen from here.
That title was my weekend simply over exaggerated. I have not been having sex for money neither have I been robbing houses. Maybe in Grand Theft Auto, but not for me. One or two things did happen though in my gaming life happened which is worth mentioning.
I have noticed I have a habit of leaving games out of there cases when they have recently been in use. Such a bad habit to have I know. An over the weekend I come to the realization a few discs have gone missing. Theft? Nah, most likely have just gone missing. One game of which was Gears Of War! Foolish of me, letting one of my favorite games of all time get lost. After realizing I haven't seen it in months, I quickly got onto eBay and ordered myself a new copy (£11). Lesson learnt!
With the return of my 360 I quickly sprung my rental account back into use and put a few titles on my list. One of which was the Simpsons game which I mentioned in my last blog. Another of which, got extremely slated by reviewers and branded as a 'dont purchase' game. Me being the achievement junkie that I am put it on my list for a quick boost of points. But what did I get? A extremely enjoyable game and a story that kept me glued to mt television box. Sure I got the full 1000 points out of it, but even if I hadnt got a single one, I'd have been glad I played it. That game of couse was 'Lost: Via Domus'. Guess it goes to show you shouldn't always do what reviewers tell you to do. You do have free will after all.
On a side note, Lost pushed me way past the 20,000 points mark. Happy days.
Microsoft said it would take up to 7 days for my dear, sweet Xbox to come back to me. Alas it only took 2 days. Which is awesome! As soon as I heard the postman a knockin this morning I knew it was here. I could almost sense it. So what better way to spent the day then to kick back and start playing those titles I rented out a while back.
Surprisingly the game I played on all day was nothing other than a game not a lot of you liked very much. Or maybe you did like it, you just found it very repetative? It's based on the worlds most known yellow family. Still cant guess? Then you fail. It's none other than
Yellow PowerThe Simpsons Game. I must have started playing at around noon, then after than I didn't put the controller down till around 6-7. At which time it was done. I'll agree with you on the repetitive front. The levels are all very similar, to the point you know what to do before you even get to that point. But this was not to smeer the charm this game brings. The dialogue is hileriously well written, an even gives ode to our fellow '1337' gamer in its own tastefull way.
One thing that didn't bother me at all was the camera in this game, every one else complained? I had no problems with it, weird.
I ended up wasting 2 out of my 3 months on my rental site due to my 360 failing. I knew I could have sent the games back and got PS3 ones. But meh, what are you going to do. So I still have a month remaining and I can have up to 3 games out at once. I've already got a ton of games on my rental list so thats not a problem. I'll admit a few of them are on the list purely for achievement purposes. But hell, I enjoy getting achievements, so i'll get 'em. I wouldn't go as far as buy a game for them, but with a free trial burning away and not many games taking your fancy, why the hell not!
