Thank you Ben! And good luck in whatever you decide to do. Hope this is not the final goodbye, please come by some time especially when the oppressed world of fighting needs some righteous science!
Thanks for sharing this past year's experiences, Alex. It was one of the most poignant and compelling piece of writing ever put to describe your loved ones and yourself rooted on this experience you had with a game. It really speaks volumes about how the quality of game is not about the parts but how that whole draws upon the wealth of experiences and emotions that you are and makes it that much more enriching and personal. God bless and keep you and your family safe through this stretch of difficult time and hope that future will hold a more happier all of us. Thank you again.
I get the feeling that CDPR along the course of development lost faith in the living world concept and turned sharply to developing narrative episodic contents on top of a barebones sandbox. It's what they do best, but may require a lot more involvement and hours than constructing a seamless clockwork world and using that as a crutch to prop up a story, like GTA V. The way the stories are laid out negates the purpose of having an open world, and even gets hampered by it in certain instances due to bugs and all the pitfalls that players have to get through to the next content.
Even Keanu's involvement came late in the game's development, which might indicate them going all-in headlining a celebrity presence in one of their stories and elevating it to be the main adventure. So in turn, they had to neuter the life path stories that were supposed to be the central plot of how the main character became who he or she is and relegated most of its related content to one action-packed montage.
Ben I commend you for getting into Fallout and giving it a fair shake. It is game that gives as much enjoyment if not more the more you play. Great feature!
Honestly I think the SSD performance between the 3.0 to 5.5 GB would not be as noticeable, like in the range of a few seconds. And multiplatforms wouldn't benefit as much from the data caching and 3-D audio. In the first few years anyway. But! The exclusive content will be where the console can make the greatest impact...
