In this episode Dan learns how poverty works, how layaway works, how building credit works, and that you can't cash years-old payroll checks.
Dan should look into his rights for old payroll checks. He can still get that money (though you can't just cash the check):
Unclaimed Funds
An employer is not required to track down an employee to ensure he gets his final paycheck. Ultimately, the employee is responsible for tracking down his own pay. If the funds go unclaimed for too long, the state's statute of limitation's on unclaimed funds may expire, and the employer will no longer be obligated to pay. At that point, the employer must turn the money over to the state as unclaimed property. The employer cannot simply pocket the unclaimed funds. The employer is, however, expected to make a reasonable number of attempts to contact the payee regarding his unclaimed or expired paycheck.
Jeff trying to supersede the opinion of everyone else in the room over Inside was probably the most awkward moment in GB history.
It can't be helped that everyone else had been blinded by an ok puzzle game with amazing visuals. That moment and the other moment they talk about are so meh it's laughable.
@danryckert I know you don't care and your dad won't believe it even if he does read this blackjack fact, but other players have no outcome on your hand no matter what they do. It's why he shouldn't tell people not to split 10's but instead just watch and enjoy the show.
Between Pokemon go and this Nintendo in a very short span of time has reversed their fortunes from a company that was on the ropes with a very questionable future, to a company poised to take over the world (again). Good job guys. Back to printing your own money it seems.
They were never on the ropes. Their backlog of games, IPs and nostalgia plays are worth billions of dollars. Now their console business is STILL at risk outside of this recent successes. You could argue they may be on the brink of some very large structural changes with respect to who the company employs. That said Nintendo will be making games and putting out old releases of things from the past for a long long time to come.
