@geraltitude: Thanks, that's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I put this together off and on throughout the day while doing other things, so my writing isn't at its best here, and it's more "proof of concept" than anything. I hate the title too, so that will definitely change.

My ultimate plan is to see if anybody's even interested in reading about these weird little games, then move the whole project over to Blogspot, hopefully with some preinstalled readers. I want to go more in-depth when possible, and use this as a jumping-off point with which to do all sorts of things in the interest of documenting these games.

I feel like I have a good concept here (and please correct me if I'm wrong about that... I'd hate to put a bunch of work into this just to find that nobody gives a damn), I just need to find the right way to approach it.

To be honest, I'm not very interested in reading about them. I am, however, extremely interested in watching gameplay videos of them. Throw in some commentary and I'd be a regular viewer. I'd also be happy to contribute my own video content to something like that.

I'll probably sound like a douche, but whatever. Since the age of 12 I haven't cried once, because that was when my father passed away. There were no other times so far that warranted me crying even if I wanted to. However, when I got the news about Ryan being dead, it was the closest I was to crying during that period.

I was similarly resilient for the same reason... until the last few minutes of the 7/09/2013 Bombcast. Having been there before, knowing what everyone on the podcast is going through and will continue to go through for the rest of time, the sadness overloaded my empathy circuits and I couldn't keep it in.

An all-digital distribution platform which gives me the freedom to share, loan, and sell games sounds great. It'd be better than Steam. But Microsoft never gave the impression that their DRM system was planned to be as consumer-friendly as Steam, much less better. All evidence indicated that the XBox One DRM scheme was purely for the benefit of large content producers, at the expense of everyone else.

I'm pretty sure Happy Action Theater was created explicitly for the enjoyment of Ryan Davis.

For those having problems, can you open a command prompt and type:

nslookup media.giantbomb.com

Let me know the result you get for Name: and what range the IPs are in the Address list.

e.g.

Name: d39yedjjim14sn.cloudfront.net

Addresses: 216.137.41.xxx

When i get 216.137.41 address it maxes out at 150kb/s

When i get 54.240.190.xx address it cruises along

Depending on where you are you should get a different IPs to direct you to the fastest server. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on and maybe get somebody on staff to help get it fixed.

Results below. I'm seeing between 30 and 60 KB/s when downloading an MP4, not even streaming. Note that if I spin up a 2nd download of a different mp4, they both run at about that same speed.

I've also noticed that this issue generally doesn't occur shortly after midnight PST, but it's back by early morning. No clue if that's actually indicative of anything.

C:\>nslookup media.giantbomb.com
