Now you are playing with dead.

I've heard that Nintendo power is about to become worm food. It feels like a part of my childhood has died along with it. Back in my dad most people did not have the internet. So only way to know what is good and what is coming was from nintendo power.

I'm going to miss this mag... but this will be the fate of most magazines as everything is digital.

I had a feeling this has been coming for a while tho. First off Nintendo does not get that many games anymore. So whats to write about?

who else will miss the power?

Wow, what an incredibly morose thread title.

As for a relevant post, my only connection to Nintendo Power is a torn Crystal Chronicles poster on my wall. So I won't miss the magazine too much, as it was never terribly present in my life to begin with.

i never had a strong connection with nintendo power apart from reading tons of them at a friend's house. it's a shame that such a long running mag is going out of print nonetheless.

Was never a big fan of either Nintendo or magazines. I'm actually surprised it was still around.

I didn't even know Nintendo power was still happening until I heard this news. It's a shame I used to read it quite a bit when I was a kid. Now that I think of it I haven't bought a magazine since the old playstation magazine I used to buy for the PS1 demo discs. Is that still a thing? Demo discs?

I had a subscription to Nintendo Power at some point, and I bought the Nintendo 25th Anniversary Magazine. Came with a sweet poster of 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. It's sad to see the magazine go.

I had a subscription to Nintendo Power because some family member gave it to me as a gift. Nintendo Power was a waste of money. EGM, EGM2, and PC Accelerator (super pissed when they closed and transferred my sub to PC Gamer) were 100x better.

I figured Nintendo Power was dead years ago. Had no clue they were still around.

Why is it a shame? You thought the magazine was dead already so why all of a sudden does it matter? I am just curious because I keep seeing comments of people saying they are sad or that it sucks that it is going away, but most of them haven't bought a copy of the magazine in 10 years.

I have one copy of Nintendo Power...from the 80's I think. I didn't know it was still kicking either, until it died. Typical.

I once saw an issue of Nintendo Power at a yard sale. That is the extent of my knowledge of the mag. This concludes the worst eulogy ever. RIP.

I have exactly one issue of Nintendo Power. Probably because it wasn't published in Germany. But we had something similar here. The magazine was calles Club Nintendo and was our official Nintendo mag. It shared it's content with Nintendo Power and the last issue was published in 2002. I guess it's just another sign of Nintendo's golden era really being over :(

I never had a subscription to Nintendo Power. I think at some point during 07 I got a bunch of them from the early to mid 90s and that was pretty sweet but then they were destroyed. I honestly thought it had ceased to exist a few years back.

I think I've been subscribed to their dutch offspring way back when that was a thing.
Or it could have been another official mag, but it was alright.

I had every issue as well, then my previous cat decided to take a piss on it.
Lovely creature.

I know that feel, bro.

Same thing happened with my collection of N64 Gamer magazines. I think that was an Australian publication.

I kept the collection...

Also I feel super weird about calling you bro just now.

Previous? Were the magazines that good?

Also, I did used to get Nintendo Power in middle school. The journalism was fairly good, but even then there didn't seem to be much to cover. There were a lot of guides for brand new games and stuff in there and not as much for upcoming games and news.
