10 games I'm looking forward to the most in 2024

2023 Report Card

I played all of the games that actually got released from my 2023 list:

The first three of those games ended up on my 2023 GOTY list. I was tempted to put the System Shock remake into my top ten, but it just didn't truly feel 2023-y enough for me. And, uh, clearly Clash: Artifacts of Chaos wasn't going to wind up in my top 10...

We didn’t even get the slightest bit of new information about Judas. I admit, I probably jumped the gun a bit by putting that at the top of my previous looking-forward-to list. My current guess is that its actual release date is probably a good 2 or 3 years away.

Anyway, let's see what I'm looking forward to in 2024...

List items

  • I’m always down for games that make me think of Link’s Awakening. And this makes me think of Link’s Awakening.

  • After how-many-years, Xenonauts 2 finally came out into Early Access. So now it's time to wait for the actual, proper 1.0 release...

  • Sure, alright, I'm down for more SNES-esque RPGs. Especially if we're talkin’ weird stuff like this.

  • Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Western-y stuff, but I'm definitely a fan of Void Bastards. Hopefully this will fill that Void Bastards-shaped void in my heart.

  • Maybe 2024 will finally be the year that Metal Slug Tactics gets released. Maybe.

  • Remember Mewgenics? It's back...in turn-based tactics form (if it actually comes out, that is...)

  • I can't say I know a whole lot about this, but from what I've seen, I'm gonna say it has at least a 75% chance of being pretty cool.

  • This seems like a great setting for a horror game, if they play their cards right, this has the potential to be extremely scary. Also, they just recently announced that Jason Graves (of Dead Space fame) is doing the music.

  • I've watched a bunch of Once Upon a Time... Life recently, and the surreal & whimsical depiction of internal organs made me think it would be a cool setting for a video game.

I can only assume someone must have been reading my thoughts 👀👀

  • I loved the first Wolf Among Us, and while this is unlikely to live up to that, I still can't help being a little excited. Also, seeing that people enjoyed that recent Telltale Expanse game makes me feel hopeful...
