If you use good quality headphones, you will need an amplifier, either external or one built in with a sound card. Don't buy creative sounds cards, good waste of money unless you're willing to customize. Most on board audio isn't atrocious anymore, but its no where seen dedicated sound card quality. It mainly depends on your speakers/headphones, if your using cheap headphones/speakers don't even think about it.

There are about 20,000 Earth quakes a year, about 2000+ of those are above 5.0 magnitude. Also about a week or two before the 8.9 in japan there was a 7.2 earthquake which was the trigger for the 8.9. As well following the major earthquake there have been several after shock ranging in the 6's and 7's. Some geologist worry that this earthquake might also only be a trigger for another even larger earthquake.

California being close to the San andreas fault is in prime earthquake territory. The major issue there is that the san andreas fault according to geological records is over due for a massive earthquake by about 2500 years, which is referred to as the big one i believe. Although you must understand that earthquake research isn't an accurate science as scientist have failed time and again to accurately predict earthquakes, but are fairly accurately able to predict locations( within 100's of meters) and possible strength.

I don't believe Folrida is in any danger of earthquakes or tsunamis caused by earthquakes. The main danger i believe is intense storms/hurricanes.

Natural disasters are fairly common around the world, its just that japan is a very modern country so this disaster has been  endlessly documented. The Tohuku Earthquake/natural disaster has been the most documented earthquake and tsunami to date in world history .

Just don't watch the regular news for pertinent information regarding any natural disasters, if your interested look up information regarding the issue from scientific groups.

You don't hate on Duke, question Duke, or trivialize Duke.  I just want orgasmic one-liners, boobs, big guns, ridiculous story, and politically incorrect social commentary.

So ya i can't wait. for Duke.

@Geno:
I disagree on the metro 2033 comparison, that game in certain scenes just blows ones mind. This on the other hand really does nothing for me, the only difference as  you said , is that the pc version is running a highrez texture pack, with additional shadows and lighting.  This engine  has potential as long as it ain't crytek making the game.

On the topic of DLC, I think BF:BC2 Vietnam was brilliant dlc for the money. We got a "Mod" instead of 4 shitty maps. I think the modding tools for the Frostbite engine have two issues. First, i fell the engine destruction implementation is a painfully inefficient system, where every wall has to be gone over by multiple skilled people. Second i think dice doesn't want competition for their dlc, within their own game.

I guess my point is that, not matter how much of an ass hole someone is, its not a justification to ignore/forget such an important event. Followed  by saying " Karma bitches, Pearl Harbor".
I also believe according to various comparative surveys Americas education system is a joke.  I am not saying in other countries the systems are perfect, but in america its a joke thats just turned into a something sad. Also am talking about public school, not the 80k$ a year high-schools.

Its taken me a while, but I've been looking for a decent source to clarify the reactor issues  happening a the Fukishima reactor in Japan. I've finally found a decent article that thoroughly explains the situation, although it it a my a pro Nuclear Power supporter so it is quite optimistic. It also has some small errors, but is 100 fold better explanation than anything you'll find at a traditional News Site. I just wanted to share for anyone else interested, and waving through the " OMG Chernobyl 2.0!!! Meltdown" fear mongering.

Also an explanation regarding the two hydrogen Explosions

Keep the Pro Nuclear Bias in mind! Situation is more dire then these individuals will admit.

I guess my thought pattern was that of, thinking Hiroshima ,and Nagasaki would be engraved in Americans brains.
Am also pretty sure i mentioned this being a crazy minority, and am simply trying to understand via venting/discussion. ( Its nice to discuss issues with more then just yourself.)
The Sakura link is form a friend, idk what it really even is just read that one article.

So I've seen this doing the rounds on the interwebz( http://i.imgur.com/wbiJh.jpg) , as well as multiple commentaries by environmentalists.    (  http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2011/03/14/sea-shepherd-quake-is-divine-retribution-against-japan/)
I am completely baffled by what I've been reading across the web, regarding american commentary on the Japanese situation. How is this even possible?

Did 1/4 of Americans not attend Social Studies, History class,  or even historical geography? I understand  that this probably is a smaller minority being over publicized due to the immense stupidity, but still.... how can people say that this earthquake is karma for pearl harbor or whaling. Even with simply malicious intentions, how can people be this ignorant? Is this the byproduct  of a failing Educational system in america? I know people who have immigrated from various places around the world, who barely speak English, and  would know American history better then these individuals.

I guess i'm simply stupefied, and needed to write this down to process.
