Mortal Kombat X moves forward with a snappier version of the previous game's fighting and some cool new characters, but the story and other features around the edges feel a bit rough in spots.
The ways that Axiom Verge resembles Metroid help set up and drive home the ways that Axiom Verge is most definitely not Metroid.
Hotline Miami's thrillingly brutal gameplay is stretched to the point of breaking in this aesthetically pleasing, but otherwise disappointing sequel.
Been a while since I dove into anything tower defense. Maybe now?
@MariachiMacabre: This is good to hear. I am actually mostly done Point Lookout (past the brain part), just stalling by trying to farm some achievements out of it, if I recall correctly. In actuality I'm probably about 20 minutes from being able to head back to the Capital.
Totally forgot Shattered Memories. There's one more for mine...
Ho. Lee. Shit. This game still looks fucking incredible.
Forgot to publicly tender my offer to make some Giant Bombs for the entire Whiskey Media crew should I ever be in the Bay area. Though my living in Toronto would likely preclude that from happening anytime soon. Thanks again for the kudos. The former bartender in me was happy with how it turned out - tasted good, fun to make, fits the site pretty well I think.
Hey all, thanks for the big-ups. The Giant Bomb was something that came together pretty quick, and ironically using two ingredients I'm not really a fan of on their own (the Fireball and the Red Bull - and I'm not exactly a Sambuca nut either). A couple recommendations for anyone wanting to re-create a Giant Bomb: two Red Bulls are, in reality, a bit much. The visual/showmanship aspect needed the two, but for 10 PM, and someone who doesn't really like Red Bull, it was a bit much. If you're going to stick with two, double the whiskey. If not, and you just want to enjoy some Giant Bombs in polite, legal-drinking-age company, stick with a single can in a regular pint glass. Crazy thing was, my 'not bad' endorsement was hardly ringing, and actually this concoction actually ended up pretty tasty (especially considering my dislike of the two parts). The bite of the whiskey and the licorice from the Sambuca mellowed the mediciney taste of the Red Bull really well. it just ends up a little sweet, a little spicy, with way less of a kick than you'd expect. Thanks to whichever of Vinny, Drew or any other GBer who cut down my rambling. And to KirkGently: I dunno, that guy clearly looked like some enormous asshole who cheats at Uno.
If you're looking for my regular blog, it can be found here.
Seriously, if all JRPGs came with a Jeff and Vinny commentary track, I might someday consider playing one. But probably not. I'd just continue to watch 15 minute chunks at work each morning of someone else playing them.
Clearly at the head of the class when it comes to ... reviews.
