BladeBlur: Best of 2010

List items

  • A modern classic in every sense of the word. Elevating the action genre to new heights with great bosses, amazing set pieces and one of the most memorable characters of the decade. I love this game to death and it's my favorite game this entire generation. Yes. I said it.

  • Mass Effect 2 just builds upon the original and makes it better in EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY. The battle flows better, the story is more interesting, no more driving or elevators. BioWare, you easily made ME your best franchise ever.

  • What can I possibly say about God of War III that hasn't been said before? Nothing really. It just kicks ass. I'd go far and say it's the best game in the series.

  • I never cared for Kirby. I always thought he was just an afterthought when he was first introduced. But, despite my grouchy approach, Epic Yarn won my heart. The aesthetics of the world is worth the price of admission alone, and the platforming is just an icing on the cake. Maybe the word "EPIC" should've been in the title, but heck, Mickey gets it, and that game is anything but.

  • Granted Super Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue CS came out the same year, which they may have been better fighters to some, but I gotta hand it to Capcom for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. For one, I never liked the versus series too much due to it being overly simple and had some of the worst balancing. Tatsunoko is much more balanced and has a fighting system that both hardcore players and casual ones can enjoy. Who cares if half of the cast are unknown to the Western audience, it's one hell of a ride!

  • Probably the closest we'll ever get to a Burnout game, only with more explosions. FAR more.

  • Gripping story, memorable characters and 24 different endings depending on your choices make this game one of the biggest stand out hits of 2010 and the best PS3 game of the year. Besides, JASON!
