Games I've Played All NIght

At one point in my life, I only did stuff during the day and then slept 8  hours at night.  Then I went to college and now it seems I am nocturnal.  These aren't necessarily the best games in existence or even my favorites, but here's a bunch of games that have messed with my sleep cycle.

List items

  • (PS2 version) The first game I played where I remember seeing the sun rise (real sunrise, not in the virtual world of the game). I was really addicted to the World Tour Mode.

  • I think Vols. 1 and 3 were better games, but I had to beat all the NBA teams when my roommate got this game.

  • Stupid loot.

  • Spent many hours in this one. I enjoyed Vice City and San Andreas more, but don't remember all-nighters with those. GTA III also messed with my head since I was going to school in NYC at the time (I instinctively thought I could jack taxi cabs IRL...)

  • As flawed as this game is, I still find free running and stabbing dudes in the face endlessly entertaining. Trying to find out more about the Animus/Assassin/Templar plot also pushed me forward.

  • Same as above, but even better (UHH UHH UHH UHH).

  • I called in sick to work for this one (cough, cough).

  • I only finished the game once, but what a glorious single play session it was.

  • I loved the first ME, but the sequel really got it's hooks into me.

  • I never really considered myself a fan of Westerns and was skeptical of how replacing cars with horses and awesome guns with 1800's guns would work, but it did. I should also check out some Spaghetti Westerns since I liked this one.

  • I started playing this before I knew of GB or the Endurance Run. Even without the context of the Endurance Run, this is an awesome JRPG. I had thought myself burned-out on JRPG's at the time, but maybe I was just burned-out on Final Fantasy. <POTENTIAL SPOILER> Also, I feel kind of terrible since in my first playthrough I chose to throw Namatame into the TV after Nanako "died" (without any peer pressure!). Luckily, I had a save game before that and I read that there were multiple endings. </POTENTIAL SPOILER>

  • Just...one...more...turn...

This is a game I have been playing recently that inspired me to make this list. I'm holding off on getting Civ V, but I know it will happen.

  • Thinking about Assassin's Creed reminded me of PoP. The only thing I didn't like in this game was the combat. I loved the exploration and story.
