@Brendan: Basically, you didn't like the game because you don't know how to play it.

If you ever had to grind for anything more than a little extra macca or get some skills you accidentally missed earlier than you are playing the game wrong. You can not expect to just brute force your way through the game. If you can't beat a boss or group of enemies, it's not because you are under leveled, it's because your strategy sucks.

Not a novel, but Persona 4 is really similar to the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable.
 
They both involve small towns where people start to gain magical guardians that are bound to their spirits. And there is a mysterious man with one of these spirits walking around killing women.
 
The major differences are that there is no TV world or anything like that, and instead of fighting shadows the main characters fight other people with these spirits that use them for evil. And the killer's identity really isn't much of a mystery, but it follows his experience as the story goes along.
 
 
Unfortunately, there are only two translations for this manga. The only complete one is terrible. There is a lot of engrish and panels left completely untranslated. And the other one isn't completed yet.

Oh man, I never even thought to check the main website. I honestly don't care if it's not that long, but I just really wanted there to be more than the costumes that we saw in the trailer. And after looking back in the trailer, it looks like there is a candy corn costume like the one that your sister wears. Maybe we will have even more than 10 costumes.

The Dressed to Quest achievement scares me a little bit. I hope there is at least 8 costumes. At least it doesn't say 'all 5 costumes'.
