Ps1 Collection

Another list of my games. This time my trusty Ps1. Bought this from a friend for 800 kr(Swedish) and a Voodoo 2 graphics card. Got 2 controllers, about 50 thai silver games and a broken memory card with it. This was actually the first console I ever bought, only had a NES before but that belonged to my sisters. Anyway, on to the games

List items

  • Probably the most expensive game I own. Got it of EBay for 1300kr. Collectors Edition complete with artbook and soundtrack cd. I've probably cleared it about 20 times.

  • I have no idea why I bought this game. Looks like a Resident Evil ripoff. I think I played it once and got one hour in and then I couldn't find some item I needed so I stopped playing.

  • Got this from GameStop a few months ago. I haven't even taken the discs out of the box. Should do something about that. Done. Nearly perfect discs. Should play it. Liked the PC version but maybe the controls aren't so good on a playstation without the Mouse controller.

  • Since I owned a chipped Ps1 I bought the American version of this game thinking it would work. I was wrong. As soon as I booted it up I got an error screen. Bought the European version a few years later. This game was quite fun. A little change in pacing from Resident Evil and a cool setting. Cleared it 4 times and got the perfect ending once.

  • Bought this game the same day as I bought Final Fantasy IX. A lot more action in this game than the first one. New features were a combo system and also a weapon upgrade system. I still remember killing raptors with an Anti-Tank rifle. Probably cleared the game 4-5 times.

  • Pretty cool game I got from a friend of mine. The game had a pretty cool mechanic in that it played out in generations. You start as Clovis who is searching for the dragon that destroyed his home. After you kill the dragon you have a son that continues the fight and so on. This is also where the game branches out. Depending on who you marry you either get Kodel(a pirate) or Arlen(a prince) as your son. Awesome soundtrack and and a pretty competent brawler. Cleared the game once I think(It's pretty boring the last chapter)

  • Not much to say about these games. I've tried to beat them many times but they are so fucking boooooooring.

  • European version with FF4 and 5. Cleared 5 a long time ago on an emulator with a crappy translation.

  • Only cleared this game once about a year ago. Great game with a great cast of characters. Got this for 200 SEK the day it was released in Sweden and now it sells for about 600 SEK on eBay. Not that I'm gonna sell it, but it's nice to see the stuff you buy increase in value

  • The first FF game I ever beat. Really love the story and the setting. Also this game along with Metal Gear Solid and Parasite Eve 2 were the games that were responsible for my interest in chemistry and genetics. Didn't own this game when I first beat it, only had a pirated copy. Bought it on eBay a bunch of years later. Retroactively I think this has the best story of the three Ps1 FFs.

  • My favorite FF. Love the setting, the characters, the story and at the time related a lot with Squall. This was the first FF I really played. Saw it at my best friends uncle's house. Finally got to borrow the game from my friend later. Couldn't finish the game due to that the last disc was missing. Finally got a hold on the last disc a few months later. Later bought it from eBay the same time I bought FF7. Also... BEST CARD GAME!!!!

  • The first FF game I owned. Probably the most polished of the three Ps1 FFs. Fantastic game that I'll always love. Only have one problem with it, and that's the ending. For some reason it's just much more cheesy than the rest of the game.

  • Got this with my Ps1 when I bought it. The first game that awoke the petrol head inside me. Fantastic simulator, kickass soundtrack and amazing visuals. I always play this game the same way.

    Step 1: Win beginner races

Step 2: Buy Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo

    Step 3: ?????

    Step 4: Profit

  • Only bought this game a few months ago. Haven't really played it.

  • Fantastic game. Haven't found any better magic system yet. Mana eggs teach you one of four elements. The elements levels up as you use them in battle, same thing with weapons. Then you get combination spells when your magic reaches. Example. Leveling up swords, Earth and Fire elements will give you Dragon King Slice which is an explosion AOE spell. Played this way after FF8 and 9 were released so the visuals were a bit of a letdown but even now the game hold up pretty well.

  • A collection of GTA, GTA London and GTA 2. Haven't really played them. Mostly played GTA at a friends house because I didn't have a computer at the time and didn't even know this existed on the Ps1.

  • Known as Jet Rider 2 in Europe. Got this with my Ps1. Decent game. Didn't really play it alot.

  • Just bought this last year. Wanted to complete my Shadow Hearts Collection. Haven't played it at all.

  • Bought this game for 100 SEK a really long time ago. Had heard that it shared some similarities with MGS. Was utterly disappointed. Later realized that this was made by Revolution Software, One of my favorite developers. Still need to buy Broken Sword 1 & 2 for the Ps1.

  • The game I would consider calling the best game ever. Truly revolutionary game when it was released. The game-play hasn't aged well but the story is still fantastic. The first game that took a moment of victory and flipped it on you and made you question my reasons for playing games. Damn you Sniper Wolf... the one game I would like to erase from my mind just so I can play it for the first time once more. Bought the Collectors Edition a couple of years ago

  • Bought this alongside the Collectors Edition of the main game. Haven't played it much

  • First got a pirated copy of this from a friends dad. It had some sort of copy protection that he couldn't fix. During the time when I was trying to find a fix for the problem I popped the game in the console and couldn't tare myself from it. Until the copy protection stopped me from moving forward in the game. I searched a week for the fix and finally found it and could enjoy all of it. Really awesome mix of Resident Evil style survival horror and a magic system bolted onto it. Bought the real game from eBay around 2005 when I got my first job.

  • Saw trailers of this a long long time ago. Never caught the name of it. But found it years later at a friends house and was hooked on it. Played it on the PC first. Was the first game I made a CD image of. The old Pentium 2 had a 2GB harddrive and the image took up 700MB. Bought it a couple of years ago on eBay

  • Primarily palyed this at a friends house. It's really incredible how this game improves every aspect of the original game. Both me and by friend shat bricks when we were chased by Tyrant-103 on the second playthrough

  • As if it wasn't enough with Tyrant-103... This bastard can run and sometimes attacks you with a freaking rocket launcher -_-. Great game but was missing much of the replayability that 2 had

  • Bought this last year. Haven't played it

  • Bought it last year. Haven't played it very much. Borrowed it from a friend once but can't remember much more.

  • Borrowed it from a friend and forgot to give it back. Really cool story mode in this. Loved to run around and get new swords for Cervantes. Also Voldo is creepy

  • Played this at my best friends house a lot and borrowed it from him a bunch of times. We spent an entire day trying to kill the helicopter boss. Only got to the catacombs and then we both gave up. Finally finished it a few years later. My best friend decided to get rid of his game collection a few years ago, so I bought a few of his games.

  • My favorite of the Syphon Filter games. Laid down many hours into this game. Probably the first game where I obsessed to unlock all of the extras. Also played a lot of the multiplayer with my sisters boyfriend.

  • The first in a long downhill for Syphon Filter games. Beat the game but never really got hooked on it. Can't even remember the plot it.

  • Bought this a few years back. Never got into it. Should really play this at some point during this year (2014)

  • Honorable mention. All of the other games are games that I have box and everything for. Just bought this at the end of last year via PSN, since it isn't available in Europe. I really, really, really looooooove the story in this. All the layers are fantastic and the whole metaphysical plot is fantastic. Tetsuya Takahashi is in a league on his own
