I made a few friend requests rather hastily when I was young and foolish (last week) and have now realised that the requestees are gone/comatose. Can I cancel 'em?
Apologies if this is obvious. I just can't see it.
1) I think the forum system is innovative but not in a good way; it looks extremely muddled. 2) Videos are few and far between. 3) User-submitted articles are all too often grammatical wastelands (as an aside, you don't get points for fixing them up; you get points for adding to the word count, regardless of quality - or so I believe). 4) Far too many video/review comments are of the "You guys rock!" and "Nice job, Jeff!" variety. I mean, the guys do good work, obviously. You don't have to keep telling them. They are *not* going to come to your house to play Left 4 Dead with you.
Other than that, Giant Bomb is great.
Oh and PLEASE, for the love of God, don't start allowing smileys and signatures. You can put sig-type info in your mini-bio, after all. And smileys are for little girls.
I think Home could be wonderful somewhere down the track but it was a mistake to a) announce it so early and b) launch it with nothing in it.
"Hey, what do you think of my new restaurant?" "Looks nice. I think I'll have pizza." "Well, thing about that is, we haven't got any food yet. But just you wait!"
To the OP: I think the choice of the word "believe" muddies the water in this sort of discussion. It sets the debate up as a clash of beliefs, one in evolution, the other in creationism. And as others have pointed out above, belief has nothing whatsoever to do with evolution but is the one and only flimsy plank upon which creationism totters.
Was it a deliberate choice on your part? Just curious, you understand, not complaining.
I wish to take back my earlier comment. This hasn't been depressing at all (for the most part). We haven't even had some mouth-breathing cockwit saying, "Evolution is JUST A THEORY".
My opinion of (most definitely and indisputably evolved) humanity has just gone up a notch, maybe even two.
