You know, calling women that you've slept with whores (even to your female friends you claim laugh about it) is probably not getting off to a great start, how do you think those stories translate when they go on to tell their other female friends? But I'm less concerned for you keeping up appearances than I am with the slut-shaming attitude itself. Combined with your general fixation on "getting a girlfriend" rather than valuing the diversity of relationships you experience with individual people (Who your partner is and how you connect is more important than the vague idea of "getting a girlfriend") , it seems to me me that you should be doing a lot of self-development work before you are ready for a committed relationship.
Bioshock Infinite's use of race as window dressing for a very different story with a very different theme is very depressing. That's my opinion. I really don't see how any player can gloss over the big problems of the game's themes just because it was fun or just because the world if colorful.
If a game want to MEAN something than what it says matters. Even if its intent is good, a poorly executed telling of a story that reverses its own message must be addressed. When you intend to lament racism, but instead unintentionally glorify racism that's an issue that cannot be covered up by, "Wow it sure looks pretty."

That Tom Bissell article is so sad. You could use almost all new games with it too. It's that feeling when you feel like you've grown too old to enjoy many games.
What did they gain by announcing what they announced right now?
It might get some people who were on the fence with the next gen systems to wait on buying one day one to see how these Steam Machines end up being. If you're someone who can really only afford (or are interested in buying) one console.
If they wait until next year to announce, a whole bunch of people have just bought new consoles, and might not be interested in buying another. This timing at least allows them to "bookmark" a few more customers who are willing to wait.
Yep, I am more or less one of those people. Though I expected this to the third announcement, now I'm wondering what the last one will be (and if it is a controller, how is that not a let down by comparison?)
