I've been playing Street Fighter 2: Turbo HD Remix almost everyday for the past 2 weeks trying to get better. I'd play with you if I could but I don't have gold right now and my ethernet cable is busted so my 360 isn't even online.

I find it rather ironic that SF4's online pales in comparison to SF2:HD's online.

It is almost ridiculous how many attempts it sometimes takes to get into matches. My only complaint about the game, really.

I think people need to stop joining matches and create their own. You only get people who can connect to you, and you'll wait five minutes max for somebody to join.

My difficulties in finding good matches online were part of what led me to shelving the game.  I'd like to get back into it, but it's either too laggy or the match-ups are too frustrating.  FIghting what seemed like 20 poorly-executing Kens in a row = not fun.

All those problems are solved by hosting, then STOMPING FOOLS.

I've never had the first problem.
 
The second is pretty funny.  Typically, I find people start moving all over the character select, wait for me to pick a character, then go right for Ken/Akuma.  The upside to everyone picking them is that I generally can beat them now.
 
I stopped trying to connect to other people, and set up my own game.  That way, I don't run into that problem.  Plus, I can make sure it's a best-of-three match (I hate 1 rounders).

This is a horrible way to do it. Just allow people to fight you while playing arcade mode. You usually get into a fight almost instantly, and if you don't, well, you have something to do. "

Fill your friends list with people who are decent, and play player matches!  Champ mode is ok, but I get frustrated real quick when you can't get a decent match.  I played about 20 matches last night, half or more against ryu, 90% of which spammed SRKs.  The thing i hate the most is punishing like 4-5 wakeup SRKs in a row, and then getting hit with one because theres NO F-ING WAY anyone with a brain does the 6th one so i went for a throw or something.  grr.  I also notice a metric crap ton of people who do wakeup ultras.  This makes my offline game worse because im always expecting it, and it never comes from someone who knows how to combo into them.  >:|  I do like the meaty fireball guys though, because i can just buffer my ultra and smak 'em when they think they're being cute with a sweep range meaty fireball.

That's a terrible idea. I do that and I always get to the VS screen and it does it every time. That's just fucking annoying. "

Wow, you must be a fucking idiot. I just stated that sometimes, albeit rarely, it can take somewhere around five minutes for people to join your created match. I said I don't mind waiting because my laptop is near me so I can surf the net while I wait.  Maybe you need to reread posts and shut the fuck up. "

@Stang: I like this idea, mainly because I am still recovering from the beatdown you just gave me.

I play player matches as Bison and play against a ton of different characters. Srsly, just do player matches. Make em yourself and set it to five rounds and you'll get a quick game (people love clicking fives) and proabbly some vary (round 5 of a non-main vs non-main ftw!)
