I downloaded this game over the weekend and have been playing it. It has pretty good style, and it is very "anime" if you are into that. It reminded me a lot of Gundam, so I decided to give it a shot.

Not much else to to say, as I am just getting started. Is anyone else playing this? What do you think so far?

I am happy to see this thread taking off a bit! I have not gotten too far into the game, so I am not ready for online, but soon enough!

What weapon(s) are y'all using?

I gave the Charge Blade a shot against the 2nd quest, and it was really interesting. It seemed powerful, and I liked the ability to switch between two weapons. I did not fully understand the charging and phial aspects of it though. Can anyone explain how that works? Does it just need to be charged when the phial shots run out or something?

Also, in my anticipation for MH4U, I just bought MH3U for the 3DS to prepare!

@brettchalupa : There is a setting in the options in game to change aim style from type 2 to type 1 (at least, it defaulted to type 2 for me) that lets you enter aim with right trigger, x to shoot, and use the normal d-pad to look around. I dunno if that was your issue or not, but thats what did the trick for getting a good ranged set-up for me. Generally using the digital d-pad to aim as a ranged character is poor because of how much stuff ends up being used on the right side of the 3ds.

That helped a bunch, thank you!

With the release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (MH4U) on its way, and the demo already out, I thought it would be cool to create a thread for Giant Bomb Monster Hunter players to communicate about setting up Gathering Halls.

MH4U is the first portable Monster Hunter to feature true online multiplayer, which means folks can play together online with just their 3DS. This is facilitated through creating a Gathering Hall. Any player can create a Gathering Hall, which generates an id, not unlike a friend code, that lets others join.

My thought is: let's use this thread to figure out either a consistent time & day each week to hunt together or figure out a chat location, like IRC, for seeing if folks are around and want to hunt. Until the game is released on February 13th (in NA), we could play the demo. I personally do not have any friends where I live that are into Monster Hunter, so the idea of playing together online seems great.

What do you all think? I would be into doing something like an hour or two hours on a specific day of hunting, just to try to gather enough community members at the same time and place.

Happy hunting!

So far, so good! I am yet to try out the online multiplayer, but I am digging the way it plays and looks. The ability to climb and jump is a welcome addition. I tried out a ranged weapon class (I forget which one exactly), and it kept making me wonder if it would be better with the C-stick on the New 3DS? I found it difficult to do the quick aim while moving with the touch screen.

I feel like the hype is real. :D

How can you make Highlights of online races?

If you go to the Mario Kart TV option afterwards (from the main menu) you should have the record of the race in your "recent" section (from where you can edit & share). Though (I presume) it won't be there if you played enough in the meantime.

Worth noting that during the post-race cool down laps you can press the + button to star it, so that it does not disappear. You can have up to six starred replays, which can be viewed and managed in Mario Kart TV menu option.

Thanks for sharing videos everyone! These are really fun to watch. :)

Blue Shells

You will hate them.

The super horn thing is a hard counter to them now, at least. Kinda rare but you can get it even in first place.

It seems like you can also use Mushrooms to deflect Blue Shells as well (beware of loud audio at the end):

I woke up early on Friday morning (EST) to purchase the game. When I logged into Club Nintendo it prompted me to pick a free game, which I did (Pikmin 3). I redeemed it immediately, and it worked as expected. I am guessing that I beat the rush to the Club Nintendo site. Hope it all works out for everyone!
