@atheistpreacher: Thanks, I appreciate that. It's less confusion, more trying to understand the value of the metric itself. Statistics can be viewed to mean a lot of things. I'm not trying to catch anybody out, moreso seeking original context to the graph. Seeing that the source didn't really provide much context either it seems to just be a discussion point, which is fine.

That said I'm not totally sure on the accuracy of its proposed game costs for the time. Chrono Trigger was $80, after all, and I don't think it was the only costly cart of the era.

@atheistpreacher: The graph provided without context, lacking a name and proper explanation of where the axes derive their meaning is hilarious. Can you share the source for this please? I need to understand what point it's meant to make.

NB I'm not being obtuse.

> Be Microsoft
> Sell DLC for a game that you probably already know won't last
> Keep the money in a holding account to generate interest
> Refund purchases when the time is appropriate
> Keep the interest, literally making money out of nothing

Paperthin plan here, tale as old as time. Banks do this shit too.

It is absolutely insane to me that the DS came out only 8 years after the N64. They crunched an entire console into a handheld in that tiny time frame!

Anyway that's relevant because I had a similar personal timeline when the DS came out, except I had that excitement twice over because I ran down the battery on the Metroid Prime Hunters demo (as an aside, MPH remains the best FPS on pre-smartphone handhelds imo, deathmatches were kickass) and immediately realised I'd need to wait until third-party chargers came out before I could play again; My mum bought it in America visiting friends and my folks didn't trust using a travel adapter with the OG DS charger.

The game I got with it was Super Mario 64 DS and I also had an absolute blast. I think having the different characters with different movement was a really good addition, in later years I tried the N64 verison and felt held back by only having one moveset to approach every star.

I'm really not sure TGA can be fixed per sé, given that it is actively working as intended for the people who put the money in to make it happen.

@ben_h: Further to this, I find I only like the way hats look on Dragonborn characters because there's no hair to clip through the hat.

I recently bought a 500gb M2 SSD for my new PC. When I installed it, it actually only has 478gb available. Even a completely independent drive won't give you full access to everything as it reserves some space for specific technical needs. It's always been this way with storage.

You'll probably not have major issues, but if your room is hot in the Summer you may wish to direct a fan towards it so there's cool air being pulled in, or at the very least non-stagnant air going in. You've got plenty of space for exhaust so it should dissipate okay provided your cooling solution is up to scratch. Since it's side-on, the space from the back wall isn't so important, as it won't be pushing much air out that way. The only other advice I might give is nudge the whole thing maybe another inch away from that wall on the right, just so there's a bit more space for intake, but honestly you've probably got enough space there so that's really just caution talking.

Use a software like Speccy to check internal temps regularly, especially after intensive sessions, and specifically take the temps during hotter periods. If you're seeing your components get to 70 or above on a regular basis, consider a better cooling solution (large aluminium heat sink with copper pipes) or more intake fans if you already have that, or approach the placement again to try to get better airflow.

I haven't read a Let's Play for a very long time. Formatting these always seem like they take so much time. Nice work, on that and on the game. It'll be interesting to see how New Londo goes at your current state.
