The Medium and Ratchet and Clank are games that don’t look like they can be done on current gen without SSDs and fast GPUs.
People were hoping Horizon would be that way as well. Guerrilla is the same studio that gave us Killzone Shadowfall right at PS4 launch which looked much better than PS3 games.
@zero_: PS5-only games would be designed with SSD and faster CPU as a baseline. Not just higher resolution or faster loading compared to PS4, but level designs and things like more complex AI that can’t be done on PS4.
Look, I get it. Not everyone can play games day 1. However, it's been over a month since TLoU2 came out and Brad's avoided mentioning much with regards to the plot up to this point. Also, the description of the video says outright that this would be one of the games discussed. That should've been a signal to perhaps steer clear of the episode for the moment.
FWIW TLOU2 was a 35+ hour game for me and took me 3 weeks to finish and that’s with me forcing myself to do so ASAP on my schedule so I wouldn’t have to worry about spoiling myself. Not everyone has the time or ability to finish it in a week or two and the game’s heavy themes have many people taking breaks (including Brad himself).
GB‘s own spoilercast wasn’t recorded until last week because staff who didn’t start playing until public release hadn’t yet finished it. Talking casually about just 1 week later doesn’t respect the listener. Yes, the episode is tagged with TLOU2 discussion but so has basically every Bombcast and Beastcast episode since the game’s release.
For those who haven’t played RDR2 or TLOU2, a warning that Brad casually spoils key elements of those 2 games at 1:12:20. Skip ahead 30 seconds if you don’t want to get spoiled.
@drew327: Not condoning any of it, but political correctness has everything to do with disadvantaged groups and minorities. Christians in the US are neither.
Could the aspect ratio of the game please be switched to something closer to 4:3? The N64 graphics together with the horizontal stretching really look awful.
I just don't get it. Maybe i'm weird because I voluntarily spent 116 hours in Odyssey doing everything and enjoying every minute. I didn't have to rush through it to get a review done though.
Did you spend 60 hours just a year ago doing the same things in Origins? Alex liked Origins but Odyssey is a rehash with similar structure just a year later with content stretched out even more.
Rockstar hadn’t released a new game in 5 years and the last Red Dead was 8 years ago. Lots has changed and the quality and detail are unique from other games. If they put out the next RDR next year with just a different story but not innovating on the systems or mission structure, you’d have a point.
@aistan: AC level-gates the main story while it sounds like RDR2 gives you the choice of how much side content you want to do. Pretty much impossible to finish AC story without doing lots of similar side quests or item hunts just to get to the required level. Rockstar games give you a lot more freedom and variety of side content and it doesn’t seem like a grind.
