I don't think this is a bad thing at all. As gamers, we win. They took the deal the smart way keeping control of the IP's, and at the end of the day its still talented people making games for us. Bananas.
I have the Turtle Beach X41's. I got them for Christmas from my brother, because I like to play games, but my girlfriend likes to read.......so if I'm running my sound through the headphones, I don't get yelled at. They are pretty good, and since they are wireless, you don't have an 8 foot cord across the floor from your TV to your noggin. I know they are pricey, but most of the 5.1 cans are.
