Been following Jeff and everyone since gamespot they have literally been a part of my life since I was a kid. Still shocked and heart broken, it really feels like the end of an era. Everyone created so much fun and goofy videos that have been so important especially in the last year. Excited and hopefully what Giant Bomb will become. Less of a topic and more of a question, I am looking into buying a new laptop but really don't know where to start, I am willing to go around the £900 mark ($1,000) but not supper up to date and knowledgeable of alot of tech stuff so looking more for recommendations.

Thing I know I am looking for are a decent design, quad-core with fast speed, 8/16GB of memory and possibly some kind of graphics card, nothing for serious gaming but to run indie stuff maybe and other general use.

I just want to make sure I can get something with decent battery life and quiet fan when I am running multiple programs.

Any tips/recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks
