Some context for the Sales Tax substory, it's referencing the current state of taxes in Japan. In particular, the '3% to 5% to 8%' is a thing that happened, with 8% being the current rate in Japan as of a few years ago. I think this change happened fairly close to the game's Japanese release, which is why a few disgruntled writers probably made it into a sidequest. As a student in Japan right now, was actually a pretty funny thing to see pop up. I just like the idea that Majima's shrewd Yakuza business sense determined the future of Japan's taxes.
Man, it's been so long since the Chrono Trigger ER. I honestly didn't think it would come back with the new way they've been doing 'playthrough' content, but Shenmue seems like the perfect game for it.
@crithon: They actually did during their Treehouse stream. About halfway through the demo they interrupted themselves and said something along the lines of, "By the way, we've just gotten word its available now on the eShop!". Made keeping up with the stream yesterday 100% worth it.
