Top 100ish Games That I Have Ever Played (as of June 2013)

Figured I might as well post this here, since there's actually a List function and nobody's gonna read it anyways.

List items

  • I accidentally stole this game from my next door neighbor (read: I borrowed it and forgot to return it until it had been too long and would have been too awkward to take it back).

I enjoyed the violence, the wailing midi guitar soundtrack and the depth of the movesets for each character. However my brother often ruined the experience by picking the most unbalanced character he could find (usually Xavier) and mashing one move over and over...

  • This is the only snowboarding game that I ever got into. It's likely that my appreciation for it has more to do with my limited selection of games and less to do with Cool Boarders 4's quality, but I still had a hell of a time with it.

The later levels (Japan in particular) had some enormous jumps and half pipes that made for some ridiculous trick combos.

  • I love games that are LIKE Wipeout, but I don't really like Wipeout. Jet Moto 3 falls firmly into that territory.

Admittedly, I have never played Jet Moto or Jet Moto 2, but the third was a favorite of mine on the PS1, for a couple of reasons:

    1. Fast-paced, cliff-edge racing.

    2. The unlockable skate park mode (because come on, taking hover bikes off ramps even SOUNDS awesome).

    3. The soundtrack, which was Juno Reactor's album Shango, long before I had heard of them or understood how amazing it was.

  • Skate 3 does 3 things very right:

    1. Free-flowing, physics-y, natural controls

    2. The Hall of Meat

    3. Being what amounts to a modern re-make of Thrasher: Skate and Destroy.

Despite the previous games also serving as the latter, Skate 3 nails everything that I loved about that game, despite how much everyone else hated it.
