Don't worry about arcades, I will have that covered! The shmup floor at Hey is basically like heaven to me and will be hanging out there a bunch.
I don't really put too much thought into the language thing when buying games, I look for interesting or dumb looking stuff mostly, like this Saturn game based on Wizard of OZ.
Trash like that is the most fun to look through in my opinion.

@ninnanuam: Space is definitely not an issue and I am very keen to look into arcade stuff more. I didn't have a whole lot of success last time but I really only went to Mak and wasn't really looking for boards. I really want to find some cheap MVS carts but that stuff is pretty common back home too.
Going to have everything under the sun, from ZX Spectrum to a bunch of crap on the Vive and everything in between. Probably play some cartridge lucky dip and who knows what else!
It was my first time in Japan and it was the best. So good that I am heading back to Japan next week, this time with more friends to see more of the country! I dedicated 2-3 days of pure video game shopping last time and want to do at least the same if not more this time. I will be split across the country over 10 days, but can guarantee that I will have at least 2 days in Osaka and 2 days in Tokyo for nothing but video games.
The only thing I regret from last time is not going over there with any plan. Not so much about where I wanted to go, more about what I specifically wanted to buy. I came back with a whole bunch of awesome stuff but straight away had thoughts of "maaannnn I wish I had looked for a copy of X while I had the chance..."
So my question to you all, given enough time and money to be let loose in Japan what games would you absolutely want to come back with?
We are in again this year! Last year went well, I had a great time watching and contributing to my partner's slow deterioration over 24 hours.
Last year we attempted to (successfully) dust off an old VCR and plug in a Master System and Mega Drive into modern capture equipment at 3am in the morning.
This year we are stepping it up a notch. We will attempt to hook up a ZX Spectrum and then use an old Walkman to try and dump some Amstrad tapes. All Live! And for the first time! It will probably go disastrously.
Will also have our usual lucky dip of all of the most random games from my collection, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1 and 2, Neo Geo CD, hey maybe even some 2600!
Updated plan for our stream, we will be starting at 4pm Friday PDT (Midday Saturday to Midday Sunday local). Will be turning my work meeting room into the worlds crappiest studio with camera to show our ugly mugs, the terrible food we eat, and the giant lucky dip bin of video games. Things we will be doing:

A bunch of Japanese games that we have no idea what we are looking at
Myself and a comrade will be streaming about 12 hours early (thanks timezones!) We have a couple of games on the shelf to choose from, it will probably be mostly nonsense, Windjammers, and more nonsense.
I also intend to play the spelunky daily at the start of the stream, fresh, and then 24 hours later with no sleep and see how badly I do.
