Saving up for new boards and eventually racing, defeating and obtaining Sinobin was always a fun days gaming! After throwing the controller the first few times when he pans you on the line, and you end up going from 1st to 4th at the check in on lap 8... not bitter.
Pikachu can't talk but has decided to enter into the Detective business so he needs you (a boy or girl or non binary in a shock enhancing collar) to ask the questions and report the findings. Pikachu Quick Attacks, Tail Whips and Growls his suspects/witnesses/innocent bystanders into submission and while they are unconscious he fits them with their own shock enhancing collar. Thus the game part begins.
Every time you ask a smart question Pikachu shocks the suspect and forces them to answer truthfully. Every time you ask a stupid one or make a poor deduction you get shocked and your life points go down. Can you prove your worth to Pikachu and solve the case before your life points hit zero and you're "unconscious" and have to go back in your "ball"? Find out in Detective Pikachu. Pika..Pika..Pi
One of the best games ever now looking and playing like the memories I have of it. (Where it didn't have 5 FPS and I didn't want to smash the controller.) Except the ugly faces! They made the Colossuses, Collosises, Colourssus and Coloursessizes beautiful and Wanda ugly!
I want to climb up the tower and run along the bridge into the secret garden so much with the game looking like this.
The one thing I've always loved about GB is that you get to know who the people are behind the scenes so that when they voice their opinions on things you know if you should take them seriously. If Dan did his top 10 TTRPGs list would you care and get angry?
I don't care if someone who doesn't have a wide knowledge of MMOs thinks Destiny is original or that when they discover online competitive multi-player for the first time and have fun together that they vote it to the top. Any rando joining a PUBG game carries the same weight of opinion as some of the members of staff to me to put it as politely as possible.
I wish GB would continue to get out of their comfort zones and play more games rather than spending so much time on one or two. Hopefully the team try more competitive multi-player experiences in the future and have more fun together as that produces the best content.
I think this is a really well made game and I kinda want this game to succeed for all the smart decisions that surround the game. Good marketing, smart release timing, good business model, well made game. My worry is that it won't be able to draw and keep players from their main games. I mean I'm playing it for a bit then heading back to league once Zoe is nerfed to the ground and Rito fix their unbalanced garbage new rune/mastery system.
If Blizzard did this style instead of Heroes I think it would've massively outperformed what they got from Heroes. I think this is casual and different enough to tempt people from their main games in much bigger numbers than Heroes.
