" Honestly lets face it: The industry is kind of fucked up. 3D, motion controls, DLC, timed exclusives, Precise controls, NO CONTROLS, 3D handhelds, multimedia handhelds, remakes, revamps, Digital Distribution, blah blah fucking blah. I like games but I remember being a kid and sitting down to play a game for hours not even caring who made it, let alone how one version looked better than the other. I get that technology advances and the industry adapts to those changes but I don't get that same feeling I loved way back when. It was probably just childhood ignorance but I wish it would come back. I mean look at me talking about the "industry" like I'm some kind of fucking insider, it's lame. I just wanna play video games. "Video gaming has become a big social thing for me. I usually only play multiplayer games nowadays. Stuff like Left 4 Dead, Split/Second, and Rock Band have become staples for me. To see a great experience sullied by exclusivity agreements, preferred console content, and platform favoritism is sad but I guess we all just have to expect it nowadays. I'm just waiting for the day movies only give select scenes to certain theatres. That's basically what gaming has stooped to.
It is sad though, that 10-15 years ago if a game landed in my lap I'd just be a giddy young kid. Nowadays I am nitpicky and anal about if something doesn't have custom soundtracks. Sometimes getting old sucks.
