"Combat looks interesting, storyline looks like a J'd up Mass Effect.
Could be interesting, but too many JRPGs coming out nowadays- ToV, Infinte Undiscovery, Last Remnant, FFXIII...
"
J'd Up Mass Effect. 0_o never really looked at it that way. you mean with the premise of exploration in space yar? Can only be a good thing. seen as I'm a sci-fi lover too.

I agree that some of the RPGs could have given themselves breathing space. You dont want to be overshadowed by more popular titles.
But I kinda love it ^_^ It's like someone said: "Here's a bag fulla awesome RPGs for your birthday" lol
Tales of V should've been coming out 2008 for EU, but instead they releasing it Q1 2009 and thats closer to Star Ocean 4's release. I dont get that. Cause I'm interested in ToV a lot also.
It just means I have to plan which one I'll play first. Plus, if an 2 RPGs I want come out at the same time. I'll pick one and by the time I'm ready to buy the next, it'll be cheaper. So I see it as a 1UP in a way.

NO topics on STAR OCEAN 4? Where my fellow RPG Whores be at? *meow*

Anyhoo, yea my only experience with the Star Ocean Franchise is Star Ocean: The Second Story on the Playstation 1
I loved that game. I stupidly sold it along with my PS1, dont ask!, before eventually getting the newer PSONE (smaller, cuter and rounder) with a 4inch LCD screen attachment.
Now I'm trying to desperately find a PAL version on ebay without being charged £50 - £70 believe it or not, just for the pleasure. It's that RARE (not the company) in PAL version!

Tri-Ace were the developers and ENIX (before merging with Squaresoft to form Square-Enix) publishers for Star Ocean: Second Story.
Now it's Tri-Ace developing with Square-Enix publishing Star Ocean 4. Square-Enix are currently developing Final Fantasy 13 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Looking at footage below, admitedly I expect the high standards combined with the magic of old ye generation coming through here. Dont you?
The official site (just one page), states release date 2009, but for which country?

http://www.eternalsphere.com/so4/index.html

The following trailer is from Gametrailers.com. It shows snippits of gameplay. I'd love to see more, but from what I've seen its looking very promising and I'm kinda very excited.
Who else is flipping excited about this Square-'shaped'-Enix  beauty?!

"I don't think the point and click interface would really work on consoles... I don't think many xbox players would like a top-down, turn-based RPG  anyway."
nice stereotype i bet that made you feel great!!!"
That wasnt really necessary, because I completely agree. The game would feel completely awkward on the 360 controller, and would be heavily criticized for it's graphics. It isnt going to happen."
a lot of people thought, Command and Conquer could never go to console, but they did it and it worked really well from what I've heard.

"Am i the only one here who loved Fallout: Tactics?

You could play the previous Fallout games if you want to, they are all good games except for Brotherhood of steel. All the fallout games have more or less different characters and story, so it's not necessary for you to play the previous Fallout games to understand and enjoy Fallout 3."
I see, well from what I'm seeing of Fallout 3 didnt think I'd have to play the others.

"It's one of my top favorite jrpg's too, right up there with FFIV and FFVI.

Agreed on it not getting proper reviews because of the review copy that went out. From what I've learned, the review copy took longer to load, so each battle took a while just to start. Nearly every review I read knocked the game a few points down because of the lengthy load times. The retail game we have loads just as quickly as any other disc based rpg.

That really upset me when I saw that mentioned in all of the reviews, and then echoed countless times on forums from people who hadn't even played the game themselves. It would have helped sales if the review copy was the optimized, final code. That's how things go, though. Publishers are usually up against deadlines, and yet reviewers need their games early, so this happens all the time."
thats sad to read about the review copy. I'm really enjoying this game so far. Still on the first disc though.
