@branthog: I agree that it would be great if Kickstarter at least confirmed developer's identities to cut down on fake business registration, but in the meantime, I highly recommend NOT backing any project where the project staff refuse to pubicly identify themselves.
Also, I disagree with you that AAA mega-developers will "take over" crowd sourcing. Major developers already write contracts with publishers that GUARANTEE them a certain amount of money; why woukd they give up that system for the extremely uncertain crowdfunding route? Most of the time you see "big name developers" taking the Kickstarter route, it's because they've split with their publisher and have become an independent studio.
@klyith: The restaurant analogy you made is a bad one. It would be somewhat relevant if, everytime a person got sick from a single bad restaurant, the internet were bombarded with comnents of "That's why I NEVER eat at restaurants! Their's always the risk that the chefs will take your money and poison your food!"
